I've wanted one for 30 years and am going to pull the trigger. A personal choice obviously, but any opinions on what to get? I've got something in mind, just looking for good ideas. Opinions and pics would be apprecaited. I'm in Alaska and like Harley Davidsons, guns, planes, anything outdoors, etc. Less is more sometimes, but I do like vibrant colors if they fit the pic and are classy instead of trashy and/or cheap. Mom and skulls are out. Ideas??

I have two eagle feathers in an inverted V tied with a leather thong on my right shoulder. I was going to add a dream catcher over them but never have.

I have several tattoos. all are about me and what i am. most i got durring the ups and downs in life. Get something that has meaing to you. I would recomend getting it on the outside of your upper arm. it hurt the least out of the ones that i have. If you want color get color, if you want black and gray, staying black and grey. trting to mix color with a black and gray tat looks unfinished. also dont try to cram a bunch of things into one. it will look crowded and you will have to explain to everyone what it means. Congrats best of luck.

This will be my next one. On the inside of my right forearm. My 58th Birthday present to myself...

I have a Scorpion on my right shoulder(I'm a Scorpio), a dragon on my left arm to keep negative energy away, a partially fossilized archaeopteryx on my back that spreads one wing to my right shoulder, symbolizing a personal evolution and survival, a black outline based on a picasso that maches one on the back of my wife's left shoulder and the Kanji symbols for peace and love to also help me to remember my personal evolution. Don't regret getting any of them and they all have meaning for me and my wife.

I got my first one at age 17. I had a fake ID. I have a total of 7. My last one I had done is on my upper right back. I had it done 2 years ago. It is my avitar on the grim reapers body, as he is holding out his skeletal hand, with the words beneath it, "Payable Upon Death"

Skin art can be beautiful as long as the skin is. It is a shame what happens to skin over time.

Please post on how it goes & if you are happy with your decision. I've been thinking about a couple of tats for about
the same amount of time. I too like bikes, but prefer sport bikes. I would probably go with a set of Honda wings on one
shoulder &, what else, an S&W logo as mentioned above on
the other one.:cool::cool::cool:

This is going to be my next tattoo. My artist and I are working out more details for it. There is going to be flames and skeletal ghost' in it. It's going on my forearm.

When I was in the Navy, just out of boot camp, I got a tattoo on my upper left arm...my then-girlfriend's name in a scroll with hearts and flowers. As you might suspect, we broke up...one night a buddy and I decided to remove it (yes, we had plenty of alcohol...most of it inside us.) We cut the part out with her name on it, and I put it in a little bottle of alcohol, planning to send it to her. I guess the bottle had a leak, because the alcohol evaporated and the little strip of flesh rotted, so I threw it away. So, now I have a scroll with hearts and flowers and a big scar in the middle.

I've thought about having it removed over the years, but it doesn't really show, unless I am wearing a sleeveless shirt (which I don't do.) Even a normal short sleeved shirt will cover it, so I don't worry about it.

I've always talked about getting another tattoo, partly joking and partly serious: I would like to have a propeller tattooed on each one of my butt cheeks. :p

My advice: if you want a tattoo, get it in a location that your normal attire will easily conceal it if desired. I see kids today with tattoos on their necks, hands, and even their faces, and I wonder how much they are going to regret that when they are older, and how much of a barrier that will be to them having a professional career in business. It would be an asset in sports or music, apparently!
