Yeah, well good for you.We are not locked down in the US either then. I have to agree with you on the other part. But, minne is over 140.

...scary stuff there...
As a New York subject just let me use this line from Ramses II. It also works well for king Andrew!

...America can survive whilst people are being paid MORE THAN THEY MADE whilst working to stay at home. People forget estheticians, bartenders, barbers, hoteliers, restaurateurs, and the list goes on, can NEVER make up for lost incomes. Never.
Some states deny citizens access to homes they OWN. Some states deny American citizens services and travel.
Who would ever have thought citizens would be denied Constitutional rights to worship, peaceably assemble, etc.?
Seems some fear living...and with governmental edicts in place, this is not living.
If I am struck dead by Covid-19, it was my time.
Be safe...and be well.
PS: No economy can survive simply by printing more money. And just think what the TRILLIONS of dollars being printed could do had they been applied to true health care issues like cancer, heart disease, and Alzheimer's research.
Ahh, but there is a big difference you seem to be overlooking.
They don't crash our economy, trash our rights, and put 20 million people out of work when there's a spike in heart attack deaths. Or flu deaths. Or auto fatalities - or deaths of any other kind. Those things and the stats about them also aren't covered as the ONLY news story for weeks on end either.
If they are going to present the information over and over 24/7 for weeks on end, then at least we are entitled to a complete and balanced presentation of ALL of the available info. Not just a one-sided slant on everything that paints the worst, scariest, possible picture they can possibly conjure up. The negative numbers they are reporting aren't accurate either. They are inflated, just by the nature of what is being reported as a "COVID-19" death. We know for a fact that over 98% of people who are confirmed infected survive. But they put ZERO emphasis on that. They just keep on screaming about the NUMBER of dead.
But even in times of worldwide crisis they can't seem to be fair, balanced, or honest about presenting the info. They have to KEEP sensationalizing and jockeying for maximum ratings, no matter how much damage it does. This is the type of situation where we all need to rally together, but they keep working at dividing us.
Just watch one of the President's daily coronavirus briefings to see what I'm talking about. Pick up any newspaper or watch any broadcast or log onto any major media website and try to find the "other side" of the story. You can't. In times like these you SHOULD BE ABLE TO. But the positive spin is nowhere to be found. Ever.
What you call "faux outrage" is actually genuine disgust.
I'm beginning to see a pattern. People with pensions, SS and savings are ok with keeping things shut down, err locked down, err, I mean the way it is.
What about those that have young families and need to work, you think $2400 is going to last for long?
So in other words you are saying those people should have all their business open up and send everybody back to work in the factory. restaurant, stores or whatever, regardless of who may or may not be carrying covid 19. Just go for it. maybe get sick and die or maybe not??
Essential" people are working, so lets kill of the no essentials?
How do you propose opening things back up and safeguarding peoples heath? Or is there really not a problem out there?
Who said all businesses?
You paying their bills?

You going to take up the slack for the dead peoples families? You going to pay for their funerals?
If you only open some businesses, lots of those kept closed will scream like gut shot hogs. Define essential. A feed store is essential around here. In New York city not so much. Some guys think bars are essential I don't. What activities are essential? Schools? Kid isn't swift enough to make it missing 4 months there isn't much hope anyway. I figure if my Higher Power can't find me at my home he isn't much of a Higher power. Who do you propose should decide? Right now it is mainly the governors. Hey, South Dakota never shut down anything, of course they are now dealing with a big out break for their size in their major city Sioux Falls.
Why don't you tell your governor which ones you want opened up and why?
