"What is the point though, in coming here just to say, how bad the 15-22 and S&W is and how much you don't want one?"
I like S&W. However there must be 10-12 threads going on where the same few chime in for no apparent reason other than to praise what is obviously a defective product.
Look, bubba, when the 15-22 began to really take off a while back, S&W was swamped with orders beyond their wildest dreams. It is because they were so overwhelmed, that some rifles made it out the door, without first getting final adjustments.
As a result, some rifles, were overly sensitive to ammo variances and had resulting feed and ejection issues. Some magazines also missed final adjustment, and this also contributed to the problem.
The design and materials used in construction and the manufacturing process itself, are all top notch, as is typical of S&W. The 15-22 is a great rifle, and most people have not had any problems with them.
Those few who have had problems, have also soon discovered how great S&W customer service is, because their rifles were swiftly adjusted and returned to them in perfect shape.
Why do I "chime in", in response to
bubbas making wild exaggerated claims and the
few babies who over reacted and threw tantrums?
I do it because I hate to see my rifle trashed. I do it because S&W is one of the few American owned and operated companies left, who use American labor and American made parts,
and I support that.
In fact I only joined this forum because of this very thing. I want to see this great design flourish and spread like wildfire, because it is worthy, and we need this rifle.
