Common sense gun control....I've heard THAT before.Oh wait, the picture is getting more clear.
Sounds eerily similar to the mantra of Moms Demand Action.

Had lunch today with a Texas Supreme Court judge. He said that OC in Texas will pass. And he is all for it. He also said campus carry may not pass.
There was a thread on here not long ago about ND's. LOT'S of us here had them.
.
...can I assume that you believe that a person should be able to mount a .50 cal onto the car or string claymore's around their property?
Cause since you can't, gun control already exists. And not trying to insult you, but you chose to live and make your career in one of the most restrictive states. I find that strange.
Have a nice day. I'm loading up my 17 round magazines for my trip to the range on Monday. Hopefully "idiot free"!
Yes, I read that thread.
It's generally a list if inattention, distraction, brainfarts and knowing better but didn't do it issues (discipline). And that's what I have been saying all along.
Tell us the details about your last ND. Was it the result of being an untrained "idiot" who didn't know any better that madatory training would have necessarily prevented, or was it more along the lines of what I listed above?
If the Texas legislator would add a Open Carry fee (tax) to the bill....
She fly through at the speed of light and the Govenor's signature....why the ink wouldn't even be dry
before they started collecting application fee and fighting over who would be spending the newly found revenue.
Although, it probably won't be the cash cow that the CHLs has been.
.
Concealed yes with property owner's permission.....But, how about Open Carry at his BBQ,
can the property owner grant permission for open carry?
.
Well... The current CHL law now covers a CHL holder that inadvertently uncovers his concealed firearm.Side bar - maybe someone can check this - apparently, a bill is also being passed in Texas that disallows an LEO from asking someone about their gun and their CHL just because the sees it.
House bill precludes police queries based on mere possesion/ open carry. Senate bill doesn't include that protection against illegal search by LEO.Side bar - maybe someone can check this - apparently, a bill is also being passed in Texas that disallows an LEO from asking someone about their gun and their CHL just because the sees it. I can't exactly explain what I saw yesterday and I can't recall where I saw it but it was devilishly clever and frighteningly WEIRD!
I doubt it will be.I thought you were gonna ignore me?

As to the mere display of open carry being enough "probable cause" for LEOs, there may be a 'Break In Period' for cops (as well as Sheeple) to get comfortable with Open Carry.
For all I know, the simple act of nodding to a Cop with a smile, vs looking uncomfortable and not making eye contact, may mean the difference between being asked for your card and just receiving a return smile and wave.
I feel most sorry for the 911 Dispatchers who will be answering the various 'Man With a Gun' calls.
I may be going a little off topic so please forgive me.I was concerned as to SB 11 passage.
Some tried to associate this with the HB910 and mistakenly confused this Bill addressing concealed carry on public campuses, as open carry on public campuses.
A few that oppose this Bill, saying a twenty one year old collage student is not responsible enough to carry a concealed firearm on campus.
But agree, that it would be acceptable for that same twenty one year old individual to carry a concealed firearm off campus.
Our collage campuses are increasingly becoming more venerable to the violent outbursts of the criminally insane.
I would not want any young person to be left defenseless at any time or place.
Why would some want to restrict or limit one from being prepared to defend one's self?
Why would some think it would be better to risk our daughter's and son's lives/safety for a little dab of political correctness?
As parents, if our children are not responsible adults by age twenty one...It is our failure to bare.
.
As for Open Carry,
We may see this out on the rural route, but not so much in town, I would think.
Glad it passed,
Maybe the post reconstruction days of oppressive firearm laws in Texas are coming to an end.
