TTSH What 3rd gen did you see at the show?

TW3

Oh Lordy! Quote from a recent moonbat study (as quoted in The Firearms Blog):

Looks like you made "average" again in just one week! :D
This wasn't the first such week for me. I believe I've posted the following story before...

I tracked down what seemed to be a fair deal on a 3913TSW. The fellow lived a couple hours east of me and wasn't able to meet up any closer because of work/family obligations. There's a large LGS in his town that's spoken of quite highly. So, I asked if we could meet in their parking lot so I could combine the gun deal with a first visit to the shop. He agreed but wouldn't be able to get there until 6pm.

On the appointed afternoon, I set out and stopped at one or two other large shops on the way (finding nothing). I arrived a bit after 5 so I went and looked around the shop. By the time the shop closed and I headed outside to meet the 3913TSW guy, I'd bought a 909 and 910. That was another three gun week for me.

After making the deal for the TSW, I mentioned what a dangerous place that LGS is for a guy like me. The seller smiled and said, "Why do you think I agreed to meet you after closing time?"

Technically, that was not just a 3-gun week, but a 3-gun day!

That beats me. :p Best I've ever had was a 2-gun day. :) I don't think I've ever had a 3-gun week either, but I'd have to check my records to be sure.

Time for the Jeppo to slow down! :D You're killing us here! :p Leave a few for the rest of us, okay? ;)

"I have all the guns I need, but not all the guns I want."
Oh, there are some I still need. :o At a minimum...
  • I'm still lacking a pre-rail TSW in other than .40
  • I'm still lacking even one "PC" pistol
  • I'm still lacking a frame decocker
... and that's not even getting into revolvers and other brands. :(

Oh Lordy! Quote from a recent moonbat study (as quoted in The Firearms Blog):

"The average American gun owner owns 3 guns."

Looks like you made "average" again in just one week! :D
Upon a recheck, I see that the quoted moonbat study was done in 2015 and reported in 2016.

Newer moonbat studies have come up with a new number of 8 guns for the "average" American gun owner. :)

That's quite an improvement in 2-3 years! :D

Incredible research. Considering that when we buy and sell guns between us, the “average” shouldn’t change (you have one less, I have one more). So, if we’re to believe this, it means every American gun owner purchased 5 guns not already owned by another citizen in that period.

Come on! Not really moonbat but bat something else. :p

That's an interesting take on these moonbatty numbers... and you are right! :) One gun owner selling to another gun owner shouldn't have any effect whatsoever on the number. Since what I buy is overwhelmingly used, I am not a significant part of the 3 to 8 guns average success story. :( Damn! :(

I feel so left out. :o

All is not lost TTSH. You still have 5+ weeks to make a positive impact on the 2018 numbers. ;)

On my way out to blow the leaves off the range. I hear the 66-1 whimpering in the safe. :D

I have to say, though, I always try to avoid buying "overwhelmingly used" guns.... :p

These are, of course, "statistics." Not to be confused with "lies" and "damned lies."

In other words, "interesting, but not really seeming to match what we on the ground are seeing anecdotally." Also ... not horribly relevant to the Real World. :D

But based on your astute (and 100% correct) observation, I would have to buy something brand spanking new!

Well, I've looked over my Possibilities List and my Want List (yes, they are two different lists!) and I don't see a single brand new gun on either one.

There is one brand new pistol that I crossed off my Want List a while back, but maybe I could bring it back? It's a Seecamp .32. :)

What do you think? Is it worth it in order to make a solid contribution to the next moonbat National Gun Survey? :D

You're spoiling what appears to be a major success story here! :D I think it's great even if the moonbats published it to be scary and threatening! The average American gun owner... average across the whole country... millions and millions of us... bought an average 5 brand new guns in the last 2 or 3 years. :)

That's what I call success! :D

Well, I'll certainly admit to holding up MY share of that statistic.... :D

I had a week similar to this 2 weeks ago.
But I had 5 gun day and 7 gun week.
The day counted too as it was 3 revolvers from the same private seller.I went to his place for 1 and walked out with 3. It’s a good thing I brought some extra cash! 2 guns that week almost shouldn’t count as the we’re internet buys that I had to pick up at my LGS /FFL when I returned from Europe.
For the 3rd gen thread relevance I picked up a 457 and a 3914NL. All the others were revolvers. The 3 gun hat trick was an Army model 1917 .45 from 1918, a Victory M&P from 1943 and a minty SW 25-2 Target 45. (1980) That was a very good day as the total for the 3 was under $1750. ( maybe one if my top 3 of all time )
