For as long as I can remember, I have enjoyed messing about in small boats. My username comes From Kenneth Grahame's 1908 book "The Wind in the Willows" where the character Rat says "there is nothing – absolutely nothing – half so much worth doing as simply messing about in boats."
My wife of 46 years and I have probably spent over 500 nights at anchor in our cruising boats, but my favorite part of a cruise is rowing around the anchorage after we are secure for the night.
