User Names?

For as long as I can remember, I have enjoyed messing about in small boats. My username comes From Kenneth Grahame's 1908 book "The Wind in the Willows" where the character Rat says "there is nothing – absolutely nothing – half so much worth doing as simply messing about in boats."
My wife of 46 years and I have probably spent over 500 nights at anchor in our cruising boats, but my favorite part of a cruise is rowing around the anchorage after we are secure for the night. The best way to explore the area. When we didn't have cursing boats, we had kayaks or canoes to "mess about" in. And "38" is my most used caliber

I spent many years and excessive energy discussing, arguing and enjoying hockey on hockey forums before I branched out to gun forums. Back in those days I went by 77-Fan, a nod to HHOF d-man Paul Coffey.

One of those forums had some of us meeting locally for beers and one of the guys later posted and called me “Sevens” since now we actually “knew” each other and I genuinely chuckled at that… and so that’s how I went forward on new discussion forums.

The company I was working for assigned user names when we first got PC's on our desks. The general rule was 6 letters with the first 3 letters of your first name and the first three letters of your last name. (This was as long the result didn't spell something the management had a problem with.)
Another problem arose when we hired a Vietnamese named Ai Ng..
