Wadcutter Questions

While I prefer 158 gr .357 SWC for ease of reloading, I cast and swage my own 148gr HBWC. I also coat my swaged bullets for reduced leading.

They make a mean Hollow Point round.

I got the mold from an old man who made it, it is a six cavity mold for simple lead cylinders. He also made the swaging press. I have dies for 148gr WC and 158 SWC, as well as .32 HBWC.

He used to be a commercial bullet maker but used a much larger electric machine and lead wire for it then.

I do not use lube but a coating that is basically a development out of the H&N plastic coating. There are no lube grooves. That process was invented by a German, Gerhard Luck, and patented to him.

I knew the man.
