WALLY WOLFRAM'S SAGA

Thanks for that Red. My 4" Blazer, 5th from left above, is shown with my
model 10 (M&P). Based on your chart I tried it with Combat Masterpiece
model 67, and guess what? Fits much better.

-db- the chart also gives the answer to your question. No. 5 should be
the M&P (Model 10).

My Blazer, 2nd from left above, has the W stamp on the back. I have
thought that the W was for weaved/basket weave.

Red, does that catalog also have a chart like that for numbers 0 to 3?
Most of mine are small ones with the smaller numbers. Good stuff Red.
Thank you.

Here it is. All I had to do was actually read through his catalogue to see that my theory about the suffix letters was b.s.! The 'S' is for 'safety strap'; that is, no hammer guard, just a strap. Phil, I'm emailing you a copy of the full catalogue, too.

That is really good help Red. In my #1 post up above the little basket
weaved holster does not have a model number on it. It is an early one
called a Wolf brand. Made in Albuquerque.
2nd from left is a number 1 Blazer. Made in Monrovia,
3rd also a number 1 made for Colt.
4th also a number 1 made for S&W.

So, with exception of the first one, all the #1s were made for the
Detective Special. I put my Agent in all 3 to try them. They do
all fit, but very tight. Maybe never had a Detective Special in them
before.

Now that I know what they are supposed to fit, the little J Frame Charter
does seem kinda loose in them.

Thanks for the little catalog. That will give me some practice with my
new printer. I've made some beautiful color pictures with it so far.

I've got one of these holsters marked Colt and 1A. It fits a 3" S&W J frame Model 60-10 perfectly. I guess I will have to try a Det Spl in it too.

Here are pics. Not only does the leather flap cover the hammer, it covers the adjustable rear site too:

I have Wally's holsters marked Wolf Brand, Blazer, G.F. Cake, Colt & Smith & Wesson. He was a prolific supplier. 1A is the size code for a 3" Colt Detective Special and 5S is the code for a 4" S&W M&P, Red & db are correct, the S indicates safety strap. There is a different size code for the Combat Masterpiece and Combat Magnum, it is 34. That is also the size code for a 4" model 28 but the catalog says very plainly " when ordering above holsters give make and model weapon ". Most of the other catalog entries don't have that instruction.

John, the catalog Red sent me shows the Combat Magnum and
Combat Masterpiece as #4. And it shows the Highway Patrolman
as #8
It's a 1967 catalog.

Without meaning to hijack anything, but to add, perhaps this is as good a place as any to post this Buzz Barton capgun holster. In another thread that I didn't find, we speculated on who the "Barton" was for the Myres "Barton Special" holster that you mention here; and came up with Buzz, who was actually a character played in a series of films by a chap named William Lamoreaux, himself formerly a rodeo star, lived 1913-1980.

Red the Buzz Barton thread was called
Wolfram to S&W Holsters May 2017
