The lady's husband died, and she wanted it to go to a good home, she knew I was a gun enthusiast, so she just gave it to me.
Now I have a 500magnum, a 1006, and this 1076.
I paid the $100 and sent off the Historical Request form last week, so now it's just a waiting game to see where this ol girl has been and what she's done(FBI or Local PD pistol)
No box, just the firearm and 2 mags...this thing looks like it's had mayyyyybe one mag through it, and no holster wear.
..and yes, it will fire without a mag.

It is so cool to see a quality handgun that has been preserved and in such nice condition. I'm sure that the lady felt good giving it to someone who she knew would appreciate owning it.

I offered to pay her multuple times, she adamantly refused.

Nice gun. What do the two punch dots mean that you are pointing to in the photo?

There was a recall on around 30,000 pistols with the side mounted decocker..(9mm, 10mm, 45cal)
Smith & Wesson, replaced the spring and did some other work...this pic shows the recall.
Nevermind, I can't figure out how to upload a pic in comments, this page is so archaic

I think you have a FBI pistol.
If S&W sent them out in batches I have a confirmed FBI 1076 that is very close to your serial number... Like really close.
Welcome to the group and we know you will try to help her anyway you can in the future.
