Went for the first round of my bi-monthly range trips this A.M. So I just finished cleaning my 586, which I have not shot in several months. I was surprised by the amount of built up lead in the barrel. Later in the month I will shoot another revolver then clean it.

Weekly Monday range trip........Browning 1886 .45-70, Kimber Montana 8400 Scout rifle .325 short mag, 1943 O3-A3 .30 Gov't-06, Winchester 1892 take-down .45 Colt, S&W 625-6 .45 Colt mountain gun, S&W M48 with .22lr cylinder, Beretta 92 Brigadier 9mm, S&W 41 5.5" bbl, Ruger Blackhawk 4 3/4" .45 Colt, and a Dan Wesson C-Bob 10mm. A quick bore scrubbing and wipe-down on the range sure speeds things up at home. Was a good day in the lower 40's and sunshine falling all around.

A rasafratsin Mosin Nagent 91/30 trying to get the 60 years of accumulated stuff out of the barrel! I cleaned it today, yesterday, the day before, etc. In fact, I've soaked the barrel overnight in Hoppes 9 every night for a week and still getting patches out that are blue/black. It may be time to order some Sweet's 7.62 or J-B Bore Paste. Any recommendations as to which one?

Get some Kroil and soak the bore with it and let it sit overnight. Then run a patch with J-B Bore Paste through it 20-30 times while the Kroil is still in it. You will find stuff that you thought was already cleaned out. Run patches through it until they come out clean.

I have started using Slip2000 725 CLEANER / DEGREASER after firing Berdan primered ammo. It is water based and does a good job cleaning the bore. I run a patch with RIG on it after cleaning it to protect the bore. Be sure and run a patch through before firing it again.

Last weekend I visited my son in Houston and we went to a local range so that he could shoot a couple of guns of mine.

Yesterday I cleaned my HK USP .45, 624 6", and Charter Arms Bulldog Pug .44. Tonight I still have to clean my Walther P-1.

The 624 shot the smallest groups for both of us.

Only one today. Colt 6720.

I had feeding problems the other day and being 5 days old today I needed to double check the system before bringing it back to the GS.

Idiot! Pmags will take 31 rounds if you don't count...That Colt ate lead really fast with No Problems. Love it!!

I cleaned my wife's Winchester 1200 just for the hell of it. Had a little spare time, it was nice out, so I opened the garage door and cleaned the shotgun in the sun.

AMT 25/22 Lighting .22 Rifle. just got it a couple of weeks ago and wanted to start out completely clean and see what she will do.

Stgraightshooter 2: I've used both Sweets and JB. Both work just great. I think JB is a little easier to use, but either will do the job. The secret is plenty of elbow grease.

These two, Uberti Schofield and Smith and Wesson 681. Used them yesterday on the range.
