In 1971, aged 21, Jaeger's (long-closed and fondly-remembered) in Jenkintown, PA; A Model 19 4"! Traded it toward a Browning Hi-power a year or two later. I still have the Hi-power. I developed regrets and eventually (didn't take long, perhaps a few months) bought another Model 19. That one was a 6". The forcing cone cracked after maybe 250 rounds of Winchester 125 grain factory .357 Magnum ammunition. Jaeger's returned it to the factory, which, at my request, gave it a 4" barrel and an L-frame smooth combat trigger. No charge! I still have the gun, shoot it occasionally, and baby it; Handloaded full-power but not maximum, or, mid-range 158 grain loads only.
