Love my 15-22 MOE # 2266 taken it out 4-5 times I shoot 500-800 rounds per trip, each trip I have about 5-6 Failure To Eject so that's around every 100 rounds.

I use Federal bulk pack ammo from Wal-Mart and some CCI – I know CCI is recommended but I have about 10K of the Bulk Pack ammo and it is cheaper.

Is this pretty normal? – should I bend the extractor? Does anyone here have the link? – Or send it back?

Try to wiggle the extractor. Does it move at all? If yes call smith and send it back. I'd rather have them fix it correctly than try to do it myself and possibly mess it up more.

The extractor is spring loaded and will "wiggle" if you try to move it. It's supposed to. I think ya'll are talking about the ejector. 1 round per hundred could be a number of things. Are the failures near the end of your session? Could be a dirty gun. Or are they spread throughout the session with some failures happening near the beginning? Are you making sure to load your mags properly all the time? Do this... clean and lube the gun, then bend the ejector (per instructions), pay close attention to the loading of your mags. Go shoot as you normally would and see if anything has changed. Bring your needle nose pliers with you so you can tweak the ejector if need be. If there is no change or it has become worse, go ahead send it back to the mother-ship for some TLC.

If the ejector is solid and slips into the cutout on the bolt (you can view this by looking in the magwell) then the ejector is fine.

The extractor may be losing the grip on the rim of the case, the case may be hitting the next round in the mag causing it to not eject right, etc.

"Failure to eject" is not descriptive enough to know exactly what's going wrong.

I would say once every 4 mags is acceptable to me. With how wildly inconsistent .22 guns tend to be I'd wait it out until you nail down the problem before trying to bend a part. See if it's only one magazine, one brand of ammo, if the gun is feeding the next round and if that round is on the extractor, how the ejector is fitting with the bolt, what the spring tension on the extractor feels like, etc etc.

S&W will take it and give it back in a few weeks if all else fails.

I notice the same thing shooting the Fed bulk packs and the frequency of an ejection issue is not something I worry about being this low. Keep Shooting and Enjoy. As long as it is happening much less than 1% of the time, why worry? Others have indicated that 22 rimfire ammo isn't the most consistent anyway, and that really is true. Next time you go out, take some of your CCI ammo with you and do a simple comparison using 2 mags. Load one with your Fed and the other with CCI. Pay close attention to the sound each round makes as it is fired. I bet you'll notice several Fed rounds that sound different than the previous one, and the CCI rounds will all sound the same.

I agree with Griffy19.....you might make the problem worse by monkeying around with it. Take advantage of the warranty and let S&W fix it right....

I emailed Smith and Wesson this morning asking how they want me to precede, no response back from them yet.

I purchased a 811033 last March. I use Federal Bulk, Winchester 333 and CCI Mini Mags. I had problems with FTE and some stovepipes. I had checked this forum before purchase so I thought well I have one of those to send back. I cleaned the bore the old way, rod, patches and Hoppes. Then one day I watched Brett's cleaning video. I learned how to clean the bore and bolt. Since cleaning the bolt I have had zero problems after several sessions and hundreds of rounds. Thanks Brett

You guys are going to laugh, but I am finding better reliability with the Federal bulk pack then the CCI's. The waxie material on those CCI's can clog up the feed ramp a little.

I did do the you tube ejector fix and this gun has been totally solid ever since. It's so simple and easy to do that it's a no brainer.

I decided to send it back to S&W they told me to include all mags, so I did sent in gun and 11 mags last week, hoping it comes back flawless

Oh, CCI standard, no plating gives me the willies. screwed up and shot a brick of wildcat. spent 2 hours getting lead out of my barrel. got a brick of that CCI standard wax coated stuff, havent shot it yet. kinda dont want to. bu the FTE is vauge, is it stove pipeing, is in not clearing out of barrel. i have had zero FTE yet and ive put at least 4 to 5 thousand thru it. CCI mini mags, federal 500, remington goldfinger, winchester targets, and 555. and the horrid wildcat.
