Road trip:
Did ribs today
Been years since I smoked any.
Tried marinating in Zesty Italian dressing over night then hitting them with some kosher salt & black pepper.
Might have to cut back on the salt next time.
Wifey like the mustard based sauce. Just plain ole Sweet Baby Ray's for me.

Birthday cookout.
my birthday dinner was a Hamms... too hot to eat without A/C... might have power Friday night.. ugh

The fridge is bursting with leftovers from the cookout so we are gonna trot them out.
Missing from my above pic was Ruthie's deviled egg potato salad. Something that addictive should be illegal.

Indescribably tasty. Ruthie makes hers with Duke's. My youngest makes hers with Miracle Whip.
Flip a coin. Either way I win.
been without electricity for a week, just came on and I quick fried up some bacon and eggs then sliced a tomato and topped it with cheese... so yummy.

I didn't take a pic, but I made something new last night. I had some leftover pulled pork and I was sick of sandwiches. Turned out real well. Sort of a Southern BBQ Shepherd's Pie. I didn't have a green pepper, so I used the little sweet peppers I had. I didn't have a Corn Bread Mix so I just made my scratch Cornbread. I had some of that canned "Southwest" corn instead of the frozen, and I threw some jalapeno slices on top of the batter.

Explain please as I have a weakness for baked cheese in a casserole dish.
Chicken, Yukon Golds, onions and cheese. Ruthie pours a mix of butter, avocado oil and a packet of Italian salad dressing mix on it and bakes it until my olfactory system surrenders.
As a french dressing fan myself, I have switched out the store bought with this;
