What's it worth?

Need to know what this might be worth, to establish some semblance of value so my wife does not get stuck dealing with it. (Yes, as much as I don't like to admit it, it is probably time to start thinking about such things...) Thanks.

1982 (I think) 4" heavy barrel round butt 10-8 grip appears to have been modified by a previous owner to take a speed loader. No box, pretty nice compared to many examples I have seen-perhaps it spent it's life in a sock drawer, definitely not a holster. Serial 17Dxxxx

Sorry to hear about that. Those round butt targets are desirable, its a shame someone modified them but i get it. Very nice gun! i would say in that condition, somewhere between $500-$600 would be what i would ask. Beautify revolver!
