What's you favorite S&W revolver Model and Why?

I love them all but if I had to choose just one the 4" pre 19 is my favorite and the last one I will ever sell.

Ummm...I like that - very much! I really NEED a Combat Magnum.

M24 4". Love compact big bores
17-3 just love shooting and it's pretty.
Next on my acquire list: 625, 5" 27
That is if a 4" N frame .44 special doesn't catch my eye first. Those make me weak at the knees.

19/66. These revolvers look "just right" and are perfectly balanced. The 3" and 4 " HB M10/13/64 etc are a close second.

My favorite is the Chief's Special. The real Chief's Special that is-- the j-frame revolver, not the CS-series semi-autos (although they're nice too). Although I also own a 3" 36-1, I prefer the 2" version. Here's a pic of mine: a RB 36, a SB 36, & a RB 60, all vintage pinned barrel models. No Model 37 Airweight (yet).
I also own a 2006 model 442-2 but much prefer the earlier exposed-hammer guns, although I do like them with a bobbed hammer.

To me it has to be the Model 27 because I think it's well made and is the best looking S&W revolver ever made. My second favorite would be the K22/Model 17 series because they are such a joy to shoot and they provide hours of entertainment for a small price in ammo costs. But if I could keep only one it would be a Model 27-2 in 5 inch barrel.

I know everyone has a favorite so tell us what it is and why it's your favorite.

My favorite S&W revolver is the 4" 18-3. I've had one for the last 30 years. It is my most used and most enjoyed handgun. I've bought and sold them through the years, just like other firearms. However, the one I now have will be going no where. With it my daughters learned to basic fundamentals of shooting a handgun. With it I have shot innumerable pine cones out of trees for the children to decorate for Christmas trees as gifts to residents in the nursing homes. With it I have spent many a happy hour at the range and in the woods and fields. One afternoon with a skeptical church member watching I used that little 18-3 to put six shots into the side of a peanut trailer about 65-70 yards away. I was aiming at a stenciled logo on the side of the trailer. The group of six shots was slightly over 5 inches, right on the logo. I own seven S&W revolvers. This 18-3 is the number one most accurate and definitely most favorite revolver I own. It would be the very last one I'd ever be wiling to let go.

Well, eventhough I am an active collector with several interests, I have to say that my favorite field guns are the 29-3 and 66-2.

My favorite 29...

Both are lightly modified... I have alot of fun with these guns in the outdoors... but yes, there are others.... :)

Drew, I've seen It before but I really like your round butt M-66... Your did that yourself, right?

My favorite is the Model 36-1...as it's the only one I own. Hopefully I'll have some more favorites soon.

That's easy. Model 27. No, Model 29. No, Model 19. No, Model 10. Ok, maybe it is not that easy. :)

I think the question ought to be, to pick a Favorite-a-Day, for a Month.

Otherwise, for me anyway, I am stumped.

I have too many 'Favorites'! And each one is a Favorite in a different way.

Hard to choose a real favorite but I'd pick between my two CCW's. My Model 37 and 60-15 and when it comes down to it, probably my 37 bought new in 1978.

Hope I never have to pick just one. But if I did it would probably be my plain jane stainless 2 1/8" M-60 .357 with rubber grips, because that's what I usually have with me. Handles and shoots Great.

But, my 6" 586 is a tack driver,, the 29's are just cool, the 625 or the 610 is fast and smooth,, the 3" 25 or the tricked out 1917 are unique , the 2 1/2" 66 is sexy ,, etc. etc.

Don't have a 3 1/2" M27 ,, (yet) they are just flat out beautiful...

Mod 29, .44 Magnum. Saw "Dirty Harry" movie when it first came out and went and bought one just like Harry. Got the same Bianchi shoulder rig too.

$400 for the revolver and sold the rig at a gun show...too many straps and a bear to adjust.

Still got the .44!!!!!

Rather than the magnums and other "elite" models, my favorite has always been the Military and Police model and its model 10/64 descendants.
These revolvers have been doing the business for 113 years now, and continue to do so.
Slick, accurate, affordable and easy to handle, what's not to love?
Have thirteen different variants, and love them all!
