M1 Garand H&R, mid-'50's vintage, with no pitting on the receiver and a '55 HRA barrel in like new shape, with a CMP stock.
Why? Because it is an M1 Garand, and the price was outrageously right.
I really, honestly, just wanted a gun made by the same folks that made my lawn tractor. It amused me.
Luckily, with some gently-loaded rounds from Reed's Ammo, this 7.5x22mm Swedish revolver now shoots again, at about 127 years old from its serial number. Shoots high, but I think I can train myself.
Well, my most recent purchase now is that Colt 1911 in 9 mm I mentioned in an earlier post in this thread. I finally traded my shooter Luger for the 1911 because my gunsmith friend liked the Luger so much- and he has ways and means of fine tuning the new holdopen which took 2 months to get.
Why? Because my father had a WWI 1911 (45) and I always liked that gun. He sold it several years ago because he was nervous having it in the house. So now I have my own 1911
It is 1 of a series of 500 made by Colt for Franconia in the early 90's. Sights are brilliant, recoil is very managable and that gun is just a lot of fun to shoot.
The FIRST gun which I ever bought was the classic old school M41. For sure I don't need any other 22 cal handguns. This gun definitely shoots better than I do- this one is a keeper.
Hello, I just picked up a Kahr T9, Yes T9 in perfect condition with the original box and papers and 2 extra magazines for a little over ?500.00 from a fellow who had advertised it in Texas Gun Trader.
I watched it run for a couple of weeks and then had to have it. Got a nice "veterans discount" also !
The last revolver I bought was this Colt SAA made in October 2017. The reason is that you just don't walk into a gun shop and see one very often. I walked into a LGS and they just got it an hour prior. I love Colt SAAs.
The last semi auto pistol I bought just last week is a CZ Tactical Sport. The problem with CZs is that you buy one and they multiply like rabbits.
This Tuesday I'm buying 2 S&W Model 41s from an estate sale.
I bought a 686 plus 3" 357 in magnum because for the first time I
actually held the 2.75 " & the 3" both in 357 magnum & realized
that all these years I got hung up on Rugers & never tried a Smith & Wesson. Last reason was the DA trigger was astonishing.
I just bought this K-22 Masterpiece on Friday. It was in my LGS listed as a model 17 no dash but it's got a K44xxx serial number. That puts it around 1948 according to the SCSW meaning it's a pre 17.
I figured if anything it wasn't going to be worth less than a model 17 so I bought it. Also I don't have any 22LR revolvers but for some reason a lot of ammo.
It's a shooter grade gun but it does have the serial number matching stocks. I'm very happy with it overall. I'm shocked at how little has changed in 70 years
I have a Mod 59 that is one of my favorites, but starting to show its age. It has been my go to plinker and fun range gun. but I’ve been needing to replace more parts on it.
Well, I’ve got 9’s covered now, looking for a 4506...
