Which is your FAVORITE S&W revolver?

I have been exposed to the theory that the Model 27-2 was the best revolver ever manufactured, which is no slight to Python aficionados. I'd buy one in a second were I able.

However, The 2" Chief -36 or 60- is my favorite revolver.

Only 4 different models and there's a + for each one. VERY fond of my 640 & 681 ND's, & 617-6 but the common/not expensive 4" 10-6 HB floats my boat MAYBE more than the rest???

Beat revolver

All a round for me would have to be the mod 19-4 blue. It was issued to me to replace the mod 28 that I got out of the DPS academy. The 28 was nice but heavy. It was issued in 1984. I think around 87 or 88. I got issued the mod 19!!.. oh was it sweet. My next issue was the p220 sig. I bought the sig at retirement and was not offered to buy the 19.

I really like my 586. I think it's nicer than a Python.

Everybody likes their Smith better than a Python except the Python owners.

That said, if I owned a Python, I'd sell it to buy three or four more Smiths.

So many to choose from but I think it would be my 5 screw 44 Magnum but only because I have not been able to buy a blued 3 inch barreled Model 19-2

My n frames. Having n frames in different calibers allows me to shoot with the same feel of each revolver. I did work the actions so there pretty much the same feel.

Favorite s&w n frame is the m58. 41 mag.

In looking back on old posts, the 6" nickeled Mod. 27, that you posted a picture of in post #21 of this thread, and still have, looks to be a sister of one that I purchased from a bank guard, in 1980. The guard had purchased this 27, for his wife. after one shot, she stated that it kicked like a mule, and wanted nothing more to do with it. the bank guard offered it to me for $275.00, including Wood case, all tools, and papers. I bought it, and still have it. It is the only nickeled modern S&W, that I own. It looks to be in the same age bracket, that yours is in. it is ser. #N49518x, and it looks like it and yours could be "sisters". Here's a picture of mne

I only like s&w k & n frames. My first preferences were the ruger s/s and RedHawks. My Python I regret selling.

That little s&w k22 I purchased for the grandson really showed me how good the s&w are.

I have two. My 625-6 .45 Colt "Mountain Gun" (which I carry) and the 1977 cased 29-2 .44 Mag. I inherited from my Dad.

I agree that it's a really hard question to answer. I've not shot enough to make an informed decision. And the two I have are so opposite, one being a 6" K frame and the other being a J frame, that they are hard to pick one over the other.

I would have to pic as to what I THINK is the best Smith revolver and I'm going to go with a victory model.

My vintage 1942 Victory is my favorite, as well. But I recently bought a seriously used shooter 10-6 that, not surprisingly, I like almost as well.
