It has come to my attention that the "Sigma" section is not equal to others. I do understand that the Sigma/SD pistols are not the most desirable. Never the less they are a part of the Smith & Wesson family (like a 3rd cousin of your 2nd uncle on your moms side) apparently.

1. Other members of the forum "lurk" around here looking for a reason to beat on us. Yes! We know our Sigmas don't compare to your collection J-frames, 1911s or what have you.

2. Most of us who own and shoot our Sigmas/SDs regularly know they are what they are. A low buck carry weapon and that's it. We know they are not prized collectables or limited edition master pieces.

3. We get the "newbies" that come here only to tell us why our Sigmas are junk. Then try to convince us why their non-S&W firearm is better. Seems to me that stuff doesn't fly on other forums. Try somewhere else and your thread will be deleted and you could be banned from that forum.

Ok. I'll get off my soap box now.:D Just thought I would point out a few things I find wrong with this section.

oh well, it is what it is.

I for one have all types of guns, I enjoy hunting and shooting. Each gun has It's place . From my six shooter, 1911, SD9 ve . My single shot shogun, rifle , auto shotgun, pump shotgun. I see no need to bash any gun or brand . If it works for you enjoy it .

was gonna say something about ummmm standing in the same spot with other people to support J Rich but figured id get political bombed:eek: so Ill just say i am with you brother

LOL.....

If you own a Sigma you get bombed anyway, I'm used to it. I call the Sigma section home.

We have to stand together, cause there are more haters than owners.:D

My only S&W right now is a SD9 VE so this is the section of the Forum I always hit first. I like the SD platform. I knew I wasn't getting a SIG P210 when I bought it. I wouldn't stick a P210 in the glove box or tote it fishing.

I am planning on a No-Lock 442 purchase but first I have to find some. Gunbroker has a few but the Distributors seem to be out. Long term plans are to pick up a Model #41. I let mine go a few years back and have been kicking myself since.

Best Regards,

I own para 645 lDA ns, glock 22,23,27,36, all NIB, springfield XDM 40 NIB, SW 39 original shorty forty x2, sig 229 40, plus a few others. When I am putting on a serious personal defense weapon it is one of my sigma 40 with 2 spare 15 round mags loaded with 165 ranger ( the original with black bullet ) All are good guns, I have practiced, shot, changed the sights, and lived and carried the sigmas since they came out. I have replaced a striker spring!!! I hit what I shout at from point blank to 50 yds. I am lazy- I do not believe that I can get better accuracy, reliability after more than a decade of use with the sigmas, by switching to one of the above with out a whole lot of dry fire, live fire, malfunction drills. The others that I have shot are nice, but my bedside has a sigmaF 40, the ranger belt/duty belt ( I am not LE ) has all I need along with BOB, and yes there is a sigma in that holster, spare mags, plus those in BOB. When I am hunting I use the 500, 44,41 backed up by bodyguard or two. Dark Side--- No the RIGHT SIDE. JMO Which I live by. Be Safe.

SIGMAS have always had an undeserved bad rap

I owned an SW9VE for about 4 years and recently sold it to another forum member. I understand that there were some real problems with Sigmas in the years prior to 2005/6. Mine was a 2008. I served 23 years in the USMC and have fired "a few" weapons--not just in practice-----

My experience with the SIGMA is that its greatness is its simplicity---you pull the trigger and it goes BANG--it has great balance, an excellent grip the allows a natural aim alignment, a generous 16 round stainless steel magazine. I have no problem trusting my life to this weapon. I sold it only because I have 6 9mm pistols and just needed to thin out the family. It was in mint condition and the buyer understands that I will be checking on how he treats my baby

I have owned and fired Glock 17/19------grip feels like qa 2 by 4 in your hand and to align sights you have to bend your wrist forward in an unnatural position---and although GLOCK was the industry leader in Polymer Pistols----it in fact is a newborn baby company compared to the longevity of companies like S&W

Springflields have too many moving parts to bet your life on. Ruger SR9 and 9Cs are flashy with Glock look alike triggers but have no where near the great feel in the hand of an S&W Sigma

Those who bash the SIGMA are just plain foolish

I might be the newest member to " The Dark Side " LOL, and I love playing along. I have a 1 of 200 made Perf.Cntr. 629-4, my latest Sigma and everything in between revolver and semi. My only embarassment was my old " Internal Lock " 642!!!, not to open THAT can of proverbial worms, but that's my personal feelings and I have that right LOL. Now lets get those ZOMBIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mine was obtained from a guy who only put less than a box of ammo through it. He hated it. I love it.

A little polish work on the internals and it was good to go.

It is, without a doubt one of the best combat/self defense pistols I own. I shoot it, carry it and enjoy it.

No complaints here...

The regulars here can help us. When you see a post that you think is inappropriate, report it and we'll be happy to look at it.

The report post button is in the upper right -

Biggest problem with the Sigma is idiots who are to cheap to buy the gun they really want so they buy a Sigma then complain online about how a DA trigger is heavy and is nothing like the 1911 they actually wanted.

My only concern is with the plastic sear housing, my pig tail spring has worked a grove in the bottom and is creating a curve in the housing. That is the only part that looks like it will fail, that being said I havent seen any post complaining about it so maybe its fine.

For what it is worth I sold two of my Sigs (SP2022 and Mosquito) after I purchased my first Sigma. I decided I did not like the transition between the DA first round and SA subsequent rounds. Further, I didn't like the decocker. The Sig I did keep is my P250 which has a DAO trigger like the Sigma and SD. My regular carry guns are a KAHR CW9 and Kahr K9 (also with DAO triggers)....See a pattern here? The trigger on my Sigmas were rough out of the box but with a little polishing they are very smooth and the weight is very similar to my S&W, Taurus, Ruger, and Colt revolvers.

I did give my SW9VE to my son-in-law after I purchased a SD9VE. He uses the Sigma to protect my daughter and grandson. If you want a strong referrel, that is it!

I think it's great to hear all of the praise for this fine and inexpensive S&W semi auto pistol. LOL, I still have trouble comprehending 16 rounds in 1 magazine. I also enjoy hearing the positive feedback on the DAO pistols. It's the only way I shoot these days, and it gets first priority when choosing a new semi S&W or otherwise. From my LCP pocket rocket, to my new Beretta .45 PX4, to my used Beretta 92, to now my Sigma- ALL DAO. Then again, this is coming from a guy who feels a 1940 vehicle is a extremely NEW model ;):cool: Happy Shooting my friends!!!

When I got my Sig P250c 40sw (great gun) I was going to sell my Sigma 9mm then I thought why? I got 1200 rounds through it (so did my P250) and not an issue at all. Why let go of a good thing? I only wanted to keep just one gun but I've settled with two.

Let 'em bash it all they want, it helps keep the price down. :D

The P250 gets bashed too but they're based on the early models and every new gun will have teething pains. Just wait for the revised and improved model like the VEs.

I've come here quite a bit, just that I haven't much to say. :D

I just remembered that I removed the pigtail spring and I put a glop of grease between the sear and the plastic housing. The trigger's great and still hard enough for safety. Real smooth.

With the slide off you can push the sear down and stick a toothpick with the grease in between the cam and the housing. That's it.

Are you say the grease goes between the sear and the plastic cam? if so any particular kind of grease?
