40th Wedding Anniversary Today. MRI Today. Too much going on today!

Just hobbled in from my MRI. Buzz, Bleep, Blurr, Buzz, Hum, Beez, I can still hear the stupid annoying thing. But it's over?

Today's wifeys and My 40th Wedding Anniversary. I don't know how she has put up with me all the years? I've done some VERY crazy stuff over the years! If I wrote a book about my life, they'd put it in the fictional section! But it would be the truth!

I remember it like it was yesterday. We got married at my Mothers Walking Horse Farm in Unionville Tn, just outside of Shelbyville Tn. By a beautiful lil creek, by a Country Preacher. I still remember his name. Rev. Robert Spencer. He was as Country as the day is long. No frills, just us and about 5 of our family members and the preacher. Momma rented one of those large arch things covered in flowers. No body dressed up. Very simple. It was a beautiful day! A Beautiful Wedding! And it was Easy to remember, the 2nd day of May. And the creek was a beautiful back ground. It is about 100 feet wide and about 5-6 foot deep tree covered and about 1/16 a mile from the main house on the side of Moms property. I used to love to fish with wifey there, when we were dating. We'd go to the farm to get away from everyone and everything in Nashville. And spend a few days. We'd carry an old quilt and pack a lunch, a Doobie or two or three and stay there by the creek for hours. Besides fishing, We'd do other stuff there, Didn't care if the fish wasnt biting! I would hope they didn't! Wink Wink! I always thought that was where our Fist Child (Our Daughter) was conceived? TMI! I also taught wifey how to shoot at that very creek. Among teaching her other things at that creek! Wink Wink! I loved that creek! Good memories! Boy, to be 19-20 again! And we've went back to the creek to see it over the years. Just to see it! Nothing Else! LOL!

But I am very blessed to have found a very sane and normal person to be with for the last 43-44 years! And hope to go another 30-40?

That might be a Good 40th Anniversary gift! Take her this weekend to the Creek! Stop along the way and eat at a country restaurant! And just get away for a little cruise, like the ole days!

After 20 years of construction, the Gotthard Base Tunnel begins operation on June 1st. This modern marvel is the worlds longest and deepest rail tunnel, and will cut the trans-alp time in half.

Societal Perspective Trivia: The final cost of this massive infrastructure improvement project (twelve billion dollars) is the same as the cost of the 2012 London Olympic games. This project was twice put to a vote in a national referendum and approved by the populace each time.

Impressive engineering, but the view is unlikely to attract the tourist trade.

Who notes it might also be used as a gamma-ray burst shelter.

Two years, two days, two minutes, time means nothing in the drift!
LOL, then I better STAY in the drift from now on. ;)

Just left my appointment at Sloan-Kettering and they confirmed what I'd seen when I sneaked a look at my CAT-scan results on-line. The latest lung tumor that they found, doubled in size in the past six months.

They're giving me another six months, and then determine If I can survive the removal of one last chunk of whats left. So, I'll just keep drifting to avoid that time constraint! Thanks, I needed that!

Keeping one step ahead of the scythe.

That view out the side windows at 155MPH might be entertaining, and the Swiss usually build civil defense facilities into these excavations.
