Does anyone know anything about Colt Firearms Recurve Bows? I have a Brand New Colt Hunt Master Recure, that I bought probably about 10 years ago and it's been under our bed (glad it can't talk) I bought it off eCrud and can't find much info on the Colt Firearms Recurve's on the Internet? Some say they were made by Pearson? Some say by Lee? What year did Colt market Recurve's?

Wifey "re-found it" the other day while dusting. I put it in a hard case 10 years ago and just thought it was a perfect addition to my Colt Collection?

I know you guys and gals are pretty knowledgeable about a allot of different stuff? Figured there are some Recurve People amongst us?

Can't help you with Colt Recurves. 😛
I have 2 recurves one a Damon Howett Hunter 50#, and another a Wing Swift Wing 35#.
Maybe taking the Wing out and some light practicing is in my future. The Jowett is a long ways in the future until time on the Wing! Amazing how 15# makes such a difference!
Guess it is like 15 years makes such a difference, or 15#, or some days 15 steps? 😝

The Wing company, is who I was thinking about when I said Lee? I think a Guy named Lee owned the Wing company? And they say the Wing Company made some of Colts Recurve's? And they say the Wing company made some great Recurve's!

I've been collecting S&W's and Colts since 1976-77 and really never got into archery. I bought my son a Bear Recure in the mid 80's at a yard sale. And he loved the thing. He hunted and target shot with it, almost everyday for many years. When I bought it, it was too big for him. He was about 7-8 and kept till he was about 15! But he grew into it. And when wifey re-found the Colt Recurve he told me how much he loved his Bear Bow. And I remember having to buy and keep bales of hay for his target practice. I'll probably go ahead and give him the Colt! I'd just like to know some history on the Colt Recurve's.

Some information on colt recurves from various archery forums found on google. Being kinda beat up at the moment from weed hacking, so taking the easy way out, e.g. LAZY!
Gets a start for you?
" Most of the Colts were made by Wing, per Bob Lee, however there was a rumor that Ben Pearson also made a number of bows for Colt. There was a lot of that "decal swapping" going on, back then. Judging from the one's I've shot, if the bow is in good condition, you should be very happy with it. "

Usual caveats.

Tired of getting rained on multiple times per day I decided to stay home for the rest of the day, fix a little lunch, and have a Staycation. It was good.

All the motorcycle discussion, videos, and pictures got me to thinking about the wind in my face, cool factor, etc. But no need for speed! 😋
So I found this, https://www.cruzincooler.com
Environmentally sound, electric, keeps drinks and assorted foods cool, and comes in small, medium, and large!
Perfect, though wonder if they go off road, or just parks, sidewalks, convention centers etc. ?

Thanks For The Info!

Thanks So Much For The Info! I "Think" I read many years ago the the Colt Recurve's were made from about 1958 till the late 1960's? Just seems like there would be more info out there? Since there are so many many Colt Collectors out there? Maybe just all the old turds, like myself are gone?

I guess a Milenial that don't care about guns, also didn't play with bows and arrows?

When my grandson was about 3-4, I bought him a bow and arrow set in Gatlinburg. And he thought it was funny as hell to run around and shoot me in the peanuts! Thats what he always called testicals! And if course wifey thought it was funny and rooted him on! Do it again, do it again! She wasn't the one wrenching in pain!

Funny you have to check out every bike they offered.

I put a add in the local bargain paper for Suzuki ts-185 bikes. A guy calls me up with a '80 Suzuki GS 750 L. It's a four cylinder low rider. For $150 when I got home I cleaned the carb bowls and she fires right up. So it's my first real street bike.
