Bonjour ya'all.
Practicing escapism, courtesy of TV coverage of the Tour de France. Great competition amidst beautiful scenery that brings back pleasant memories. Just what the doctor ordered after this weeks events.
The race was shortened 3km yesterday, after a fluke event with the "Kilometer-to-go" spider.

Neighborhood seems to be free of Rhea, only the usual groundhog keeping an eye on things.

My little Spyderco knife could have flattened that thing out in no time and the race could have gone on.

We're gonna head on out to the cinema and see the new Tarzan movie.
I figger this can go one of two ways.
Either I'll be fired up over an accurate interpretation of the Tarzan books or I'll be disgusted at wasting money at another lame movie.
Either way we're gonna to to the Y afterwards for a good workout.

The new debate on social media today. The use of the robotic machine that was used to disperse the bad guy. Most are saying it was totally unfair? They are saying, they should have given him more time in case he decided to surrender? They should have waited and continued negotiations. It was inhumane? I guess to give him more time, to do more carnage?

Is the World Just Crazy? Or am I just so un politically correct, that I shouldn't exist?

I think I'm going to go throw up!

The Dallas PD gave him all the time he needed. The Chief made a wise and just decision, preventing loss of additional innocent lives.

I Totally Agree!

I also thought it was a good call.

I'm so sick of these so called politically correct morons on social media, I can't see or think straight any more. And they're playing desk top quarterback, has got to stop. They're the ones that are causing 90% of these problems, the other 10% is the media.

I guess they should have sent the robot in with a plate of cookies and milk. And asked him nicely to give up and they should've give him more time to think and apologize about the No No's he had done? And come back out and enjoy the Peaceful Demonstration?

I just don't know what to think anymore.

For now, I no longer have any energy left for discussing Dallas or any of the other recent horrors. I'm old and tired and heartsick and anxious, and I need to put all that aside for a while.

I'm not avoiding reality, I just need to rest from tragedy for a bit and recharge. A man's got to know his limitations, I'm told.

I will seek beauty and good music and silly fun for the time being. Maybe fix something comforting to eat.

See you later.

I'm over it! My brain hurts!

I'd just like to go outside and listen to the sounds of birds chirping and the rustling of the wind blowing through the trees and clear my mind!

But it's to hot, even for Birds and there is NO Wind!

So, I'm just going to take a Tylenol and go back to bed!

I got in a half hour nap, now all thoughts are on the upcoming Mexican food lunch. Pappasitos is a Mexican restaurant owned by a Greek-American restaurateur family. I guess it's really more Tex-Mex than authentic Mexican. I do not care, they feed you well. Chips, salsa, and cheese enchiladas make me happy. A 1:00 PM lunch, I'll eat enough for two meals and skip tonight's dinner! Now that's a plan. :D

It's a shame they didn't have one of these guys to send in and take the bad guy out!
But sending one in and blowing him up was a good choice, got him before he got someone else! Dallas PD did good! ;)

Monday Morning Do-gooder quarterbacks can take their game somewhere else and shove it!
And that's all I got to say about that!

I need some help! I'm sure a lot of you suspected this, right? Anyways, My PC is running Win93 Professional(hard to believe, right?)& I've forgotten how to put a shortcut in. I would like to put one on my desktop for the Forum. Any ideas?

(I wrote this a year ago. I just think that occasionally people should be reminded of my station in life.)

To my knowledge nobody has ever associated my branch of my family with nobility. This must now change. I have learned that as the senior surviving member I am the rightful Earl of Dinglebury. Which is pretty damn surprising, considering that we are East Tennessee Irish.

I would take my seat in the House of Lords, but London is a heck of a commute.

Please feel free to address me as "Your Lordship" only on formal occasions, like cow chip tosses and goat gelding. I want to remain unspoiled as long as possible.

Thank you for your respectful consideration.

And cat herding?

Quick! There are 12 more stages that need you. I'm sure there's room for another course marshal. Just pack the Spyderco knife that includes a corkscrew for slaking your thirst with good wine while you wait. :D
