That reminds me, there is a garage sale in my 'hood Saturday. I love walking up to their tables and asking, "Do you have any guns?"

No luck so far.

Around here any guns for sale will be in plain sight. I run into several with guns every summer. Most I have seen was about 20 laid out and those were quality guns, with quality prices. If the prices are good they don't last long and I am not much of a first guy there type

I'm just kinda spitballin' here, but when do you don your pistol if you're gonna drive to a location to shop and have to walk around a little before you enter a store . . . ?

Open carry is legal in Louisiana ( In most places ) but you have to pick your battles , For instance , my daughter in law owns a coffee shop that sort of caters to Moms and kids . There's a play area for the kids , WIFI and all sorts of coffees and sandwiches and salads . If I busted up in there with my G19 on my hip it would be all over the local Facebook groups within minutes and ultimately it would hurt her business if allowed to continue . That's just the world we live in . I hate it , but I have to live in it .

Others will be here quickly to declare armageddon and the deterioration of western society will quickly occur. I'm not in that camp, but I can guarantee that one will quickly become the object of unwanted attention by tourists asking for directions, citizens reporting petty crime or wanting to discuss their child custody problem, and occasionally someone reporting a crime in progress that you would be expected to attend to immediately. Your non response will be reported to the real police as a complaint about an officer not doing his job, and then you'll get to talk to the real police for a while at some point. You'll all agree that they get to keep your nice badge, and you'll go back to legal open carry or concealed carry, without the badge . . .

We have open or concealed carry in KS, with no permit of any kind. I only carry openly when in uniform, since I am retired that won't happen. That is the only part of the law I do not agree agree with. I think if one is carrying openly a badge must be displayed. I always carry, but never openly. You can get a permit if you go out of state, to a state that has a reciprocity with KS.

Being 70 years old I have a problem with people panicking because I open carry. I've lived in a lot of states but OC was always legal and people did it because CC wasn't legal. But then again most people never thought twice about OC or CC.

I open carry inside my vehicle. And if carrying concealed my
357 Magnum prints thru my Shirt. If I really want to be concealed I carry my S&W 642 38 instead of the 357 or
a Glock 45. I made this transition about the time we got
open borders, and figure folks are just going to have to get
used to it. Last I heard there are over a million illegal
aliens who came this year or are on the way.

I don't carry inside Walmart since they asked customers
not to carry but never carried openly inside their store.
I was unsure about their policy regarding pumping gasoline
but rather than have some clerk come to the gas pump
and tell me they don't allow open carry inspite of the
fact they have no such signs posted I just stopped buying
gasoline there.

One time I had someone asked me why I carry an extra
gun when I was pumping gasoline and I told him in case
someone tries to grab the other one.

I predict that as problems get worse due to the open border
policy that more people will be carrying the kind of weapons
they do on the Mexican side of the border where heads end
up on sticks. I don't make the laws or the policies in this
country, I just adjust.

And I don't buy into the "it's dangerous" schtick either. It's the bad guys that are the cowboys, not me.
I don't mind covering up with a sports jacket, but beyond that I want easy access. I want nothing in the way. No t-shirt, nothing I want a One Hand Pull.

Watch the vid "Never Rob a Texas Post Office". The good guy has a slight hickup when he goes for his gun getting a two finger grip when he first pulls it out from under his t shirt, he could have easily dropped his weapon during that pull. All because he had to get past the t shirt first.

That really expresses my views exactly. My shirts are short
sleeve but expensive and I rarely wear a jacket unless its very
cold. That extra split second to pull your shirt or jacket back
could make the difference. If I am going to a civilian doctor
office where its legal for me to carry but might be frowned
upon then I carry a smaller weapon rather than worry about
anyone noticing. I might even carry a medical bag to carry it
in but you can't draw very fast when you have to unzip
a compartment to get to it.

As others have said OC is currently verboten in the "Gunshine State." I suspect it has more to do with tourist $$$$ than any other reason. Guns make lots of folks pucker up, especially folks from places where guns almost don't exist and who have zero familiarity. MONEY controls "political will" here and you can bet if open carry caused a $10 Billion influx of new revenue streams it'd already be required nevermind law. Joe

Florida is one of the only 5 remaining states that still don’t allow the general open carry of handguns and it’s a disgrace.

In Florida, open carry with or without a concealed firearms and weapons license, is legal when hunting, fishing, camping, at your work or place of business, on your private property and at a gun range or shooting competition.

It’s also legal to open carry, with or without a license, when traveling directly to going fishing, hunting, and camping; but don’t stop off to eat at a restaurant or shop on the way.

Why?
If the person is doing something legal, why should they need to show a badge to do it?
You don't want anyone open carrying it they don't belong to the club? That's some elitist BS.

Riding the MC is one time I would be more likely to OC. I think most people get it. You are kind of vulnerable out there. Can't exactly roll up your window at a traffic light.
