He was voted into office ... He can be voted out of office ...
Get together , campaign for a man who supports your / our views ...
Get out and VOTE and bring all your buddies and their wives with you .
Have friends who can no longer drive ... call and offer them a ride to the polls . The other guy's use buses to haul in voters ... we need to get off our arrears and VOTE !
Good luck in the struggle ,

I don't think it's a matter of people not voting. Sure, not everybody votes, but not every anti gunner votes either. If the governor takes the 5 boroughs of NYC, the two of Long Island right next to NYC, and a couple more(he always takes Albany County. He makes sure of that), he has enough votes to win. NYC alone has 8 million people. Long Island has 3 million. That's more than half the NY population in that one tiny region of the state. There are 62 counties in NY. He only won 14 of those in the last election. There aren't enough gun people in those 14 counties to counteract the overwhelmingly anti-gunners.

Actually that's not entirely true. Based on NRA and SCOPE estimates there are more gun owners in NY than there are people that voted for our last governor. U can really only track handguns because they are registered. The other info is collected via surveys then extrapolated by percentage of population. I've heard it said there are less than one million gun owners in NY buy lefty politicians. And that we are a very small minority. Well there are yrs when close to a million people buy hunting licenses. That's just long guns (mostly). What is true is the minority of gun owners hunt. Guys like my brother in law are a perfect example. He's never hunted a day in his life. But he has a Mossberg 500 under his bed………. This is a long winded way of saying once again that if all gun owners vote change would happen. Especially with the waves of violence overtaking some cities.

That might be true. It probably is. But MANY of those gun owners are hunters or target shooters. They don't care about AR's or magazine capacity.

I admit it can backfire on them. When the SAFE Act was passed, I know quite a few gun owners who couldn't have cared less. They carried a 5 shot J frame. The Safe Act had no impact on them. Now, those same long time carriers are pissed. They can't carry that J frame in a supermarket or gas station anymore. So maybe this new overreaching law has stirred up a few hornets, but it seems to me the outrage has already died down. The likelihood of a powershift in the House or Senate seems less likely today than it did two months ago, so in my opinion, the law will likely stand for the state of NY, and the proposed AWB will pass.

Washington State is like that too. 3 counties dictate what the other 36 get to do.

I misspoke. Permits have to be recertified every 5 years thanks to the Safe Act. I know when the governor signed the new law, one of the new regulations was reapplying every 5 years, with a full alllicstion and background check done.

What's alllicstion?

Show me a link to the new law about "reapplying". I didn't read that.

I meant "application". Tiny iPhone keyboard. And I'm not going to search for the article, but I am 100% sure I read that the permit must be renewed every 5 years with another application and social media check.

Whatever it is, it's a mess, and 1000 times worse than the already bad NY gun laws. How many business owners are going to hang a "guns welcome here" sign and invite protesters? I'm sure some will in extremely gun friendly locations, but most won't.

Politicians get elected ... they CAN get voted out of office .
You can't just say ... Nothing can be done .

It will take a lot more than gun carry laws to change the political leadership in NYS. I vote and always will, but the last republican to govern NYS was nearly 30 years ago. Three months ago I would have said NY has another good shot at a Republican Governor, but the average voter looks at the price of gas at the pump and thinks things are better. They don't realize it is a temporary fix to sway voters, and things will come crashing down again after the election, but by then it will be too late.

I would love to be wrong, but every sign I see is pointing to the end of gun ownership as we know it. The first AWB was a minor inconvenience. The AR I bought in '99 had no bayonet lug or flash hider. Big deal. I had dozens of pre-ban magazines. Cases of .223 ammo to my doorstep. Sold rifles to friends without an FFL transfer. All of this in NYS. Now? All of it will be gone across the country.

Pages 5-7. Section 1, paragraph 10, sub D and on.

NYC has draconian rules of their own. The rest of the state has the same re-certification 5 years rules as before. Name, address, SN of guns, etc.

Once again, I ain't no lawyer but I respectfully disagree with your assessment.

Staten Island has NYC'''s highest handgun ownership per capita

Less than 20% of all New Yorkers own guns. NYC is under 2%.

Try being a S&W collector even in a rural part of New York and you'll see the truth of it. As an example, I've seen literally two Model 10s for sale (bought 50% myself) in the past five years at the roughly a dozen shops I stop at regularly when I'm out for a drive.

As I stated before I live rural and I have 5 gun shops within about a 10 mile drive. Bring that distance out to 50 miles or so and by quick count I can come up with 40. This includes the capitol districts city's. If you include a couple of big boxes you can add about 6 more to my 50 count!

As most people like the bottom feeders you do not find many "collectable or very desirable revolvers" of any kind in the the dealer show cases. With that said you can sometimes get lucky I found a pristine Colt Cobra with hammer shroud and original box, a very nice older Dick special and my S&W 547 at a very decent price.

Have see over the years a bunch of the earlier Colt Pythons but the price they were asking, I was afraid to touch them:D

People who have lawfully carried for decades will be barred from doing so in virtually every public place, other than gun ranges and woods. I fail to see how that is not a total disaster.

And I don't know what document you are referring to since you didnt post it.

The city I policed for 28 years has named several "sensitive areas" that restricts even retired cops from their jurisdiction from carrying (our permits come w/retired credentials by state law). Kind of a slap in the face if you ask me.

SCOTUS has no enforcement arm to ensure their rulings are adhered to. No police, army, NG, US Marshals.

Exactly, the SCOTUS can make all the rulings they want and can
not enforce a one.
Maybe it's time to just ignore unjust laws and let the chips fall.
