681 back from Pinnacle

a 681 you leave the way it is...too late now.

I agree with oysterer on this one.

I know, it's your gun , do with it whatever you want.

But would it have been more cost effective to buy a 686+ which comes with a 7 round cylinder and round butt, and just have the barrel cut down? And maybe have the sights changed/modified?

Again, your gun, your call. But I'd never have my 681 ND modified.

JMHO YMMV

Just got it an hour ago. Mark said 158’s, we’ll see.

FedEx guy “are you Michael”

Me “yep, my name is on the box, do I need to sign?”

FedEx guy “no”…….it was sent adult sig required.

Me “have a good one”

Beats the UPS guy who left my 38/44 on my porch @ 8:55 pm (beat the 9pm delivery promise by 5 minutes) when the box said “adult signature required”. No knock on the door.
Back in 91, I came home from work one day, quarter after five, and found my Single Action Army, back from Colt, on the front porch. At first I was tickled it came back so quick. Then, it was ....hey, wait a minute....

I don't modify any of my guns, but that's is a really nice one. As far as value goes, it might have a high resale value for the guy that wants that particular configuration. Sorta like guys who restore cars. They might put $40K into one and sells it for way less than they have into it.

Beautiful gun Mike........really like what you had done. Thanks for sharing the pics.:) I also loved the thread you resurrected of DHart's 581 that Mark/Pinnacle did for him a few years back.

Two beautifully done guns. I'm looking forward to your report on how it shoots.:) (FJB)

Really well done custom conversion.

You have the best of a lot of worlds here.

3” barrel, 7-shot capability.

You have firepower and concealability.

Great weapon.

Nice piece!
I seriously thought about sending my NIB 681 to Magnaport for a similar make over, but decided to carry my 2.5 686-4 plus. Other than having adjustable sights, I already had what I wanted and I didn’t have to defile a NIB 681.

a 681 you leave the way it is...too late now.

That just means our unmodified 681s are worth a little more.
Like a Hotrod 32 Ford versus an original well stored 32 Victoria.
No matter how much gets invested making the hotrod an all-original Ford, because not many get left unmodified in some way.
