Rainy Saturday morning here in the "burbs of the burgh"...... my 15 year old High School freshman had Soccer practice at 7AM.......all I wanted to do was listen to the rain on the roof............................................

pick him up at 8:30 ...... then he refs club soccer 9-11:30........

I just want to go back to bed!!!!!!!!


But here I am..........."drifting" .... but not off to sleep..................

The Varsity game went to overtime..... final score 1/1......phone call came at 10:30.......still some math homework to finish up..... lights out 11:30.

11:45....... sounded like two racoons were having a "dustup" in the neighbors back yard............

3:45...... neighborhood was serenaded...... by a coyote for a good half hour....... wakes Dad up but no one else........

You can't make this stuff up...........

We live between a County Park, the Twp. park and a nature area.......... all the lots are 1-5 wooded acres.... with some horse farms behind the houses across the street....... half a dozen deer in the back yard yesterday afternoon........ flocks of turkey .... occasional bear........ coyotes showed up about .....3 years ago.

Fell asleep on the deck......(no spiders Arik).....last night after dinner......woke up about 10 and went to bed.............all the bedroom window open......



3:30 awakened to a Cock crowing....."What the expletive!!!!".........

neighbor has "CHICKENS!!!!"....when did this happen? We spend a lot of evenings on the deck; but windows have been closed the past couple of months.........

Never knew chickens will crow all night (my farmer buddy told me so)..... explains the Tuesday night Coyote visit............crowed every 1-2 minutes until 4am...... couldn't get back to sleep...... started crowing again about 6:30.

Still tired..........

Good morning drifters. Another wonderful day in the desert is upon us. Temp was 74 this morning, things are cooling off a little.

Ahhh..... the wonderful sound of a rooster crowing in the morning, I miss that. Bam it is something you will get used to and after a while you won't even notice it.

And the possum tried to cross the road to prove to the chicken it could be done but he was wrong.

Is there a debate between the 9mm luger/parabellium round and the 40cal? Wait one minute the debate for decades between the 9mm luger round and the 45cap never ended yet.

The only thing the 9mm has going for it is the double stack mags and fire power. Firepower means how many bullets in the magazine. The amount of shots. It's not the stopping power or killing power of the 9mm it lacks in those two things. No question the 9mm is out of the debate. The 9mm never impressed me power and stopping wise. A side arm for hunting I don't think so.

The Leos had 38's with 6 rounds to the bad guys 9mm with 18 rounds. They weren't out gunned power wise. Just the amount of shots fired.
40 vs 45?
It's between the 40cal and the 45acp. What do you guys think?

Is the 45acp outdated?

Is the 45acp when compared to the 40cal similar to comparing the 45 long colt to the 44 Magnum.

Is it a lighter bullet, more speed vs a heavier bullet, slower speed?

I just know I wouldn't want to be on the receiving end of any of 'em.
