Back from a nice long wander in the mountains.
It's so humid, my glasses fogged up.
Now all we need is more heat. Mid 80's is groovy and all but me likeum triple digits.

It must be where you're from. I don't like it much over 80. Low 80s are ok if it's not too humid.

I can see where this conversation is heading!

Wifey says she don't fart! But the smell gives her away!

She prefers the word poot! Call it what you may, it still stinks!! Nothing worse, than a popcorn fart, excuse me, POOT! And wifey LOVES, microwave pootcorn.

Can someone PLEASE get the air freshener? This subject, STINKS!

Here ya go! Take your pick.

Featured in many of my Beer Time posts is a Church Key Style can and bottle opener I purchased last year at the Dollar Tree for a dollar. I have other bottle openers, but this one is a refrigerator magnet, so I do not have to look far when I pull out a cold one.

My beer drinking days go back to the time of the pull tab, then the safer flip top can came along. I do remember opening soft drink cans, juice cans, and motor oil cans with the pointy end of a church key. You would punch a big hole in one side and a small vent hole in the opposite side of the top of the can.

It occurred to me the other day... In the second decade of the 21st Century, what products come in containers which need the pointy end of a church key in order to open? With the mass of knowledge available here, I'm sure someone can tell me what to do with the pointy end of my can and bottle opener!

There are multiple uses for the pointy end, but explaining further might involve the statute of limitations. One almost occurred yesterday! Wife prevented a use from occurring yesterday! Handy tools, never had to use one to open a church door though!

Good afternoon all, Quiet and relaxing day here at the campsite!
Had a WiFi outage here since last night, couldn't read the paper this morning! Had a brief rain shower pass through which may have been the cause.
How did we ever go camping with out these modern conveyances? :)

Did anybody smile back then? 😠

Safely ensconced in a full service slot in Cherry Creek State Park, Colorado. I had the delusion this would be a typical state park in the middle of nowhere in particular, it's in the middle of <ed> DENVER!
I threaded needle holes with Timmber Wolf the Wonder Coach I would hesitate to take in Electric Geisha! I suspect the relief of pucker factor will be memorable. Spent two nights in a Holiday Inn in Parker, CO. Top of a hill, EXPENSIVE and they don't even toss in breakfast!
Restaurant with a view, prices and quality to match. Good eats. Scantily clad staff, about Fox News Dress Code Standard (TM) but all wearing flats instead of high heels. Most unusual.
Campsite has odd water source with a by-pass valve, new procedure, connect, throw lever, pull by-pass valve, measure pressure to coach and vent lines.

Report from the Hills.
Right now thunderstorm passing over! So sitting on the camp store porch, listening to the rain on the metal roof! 😁
Enjoying a Shiner Bock to celebrate my riding prowess! 😝
You know a good ride is one that you only dismount when you intend to!
Coming back around noon, Archie was anxious, and excited about heading back! We were riding next to a deep rut in the trail, he sidestepped, and ended up with one rear then the other in the rut. Sorta lost/kept/lost, my balance and my right stirrup! Luckily my superior 😉 😝 riding skills prevailed ! OK dumb luck ! We both came through OK!
Son and grandson have been doing well fishing. Lake trout, rainbows, and rock bass from Pactola Reservoir. Walleyes, small mouth, and crappie, from Anagustora Reservoir.
We went to Anagustora yesterday and met them for a beach picnic, plus Jerimiah got to go tubing in the afternoon. My wife functioned as the spotter! Dylan and I sat on the beach and in the water to keep cool! We found out he can swim, and got a bath to wash the dust off! Grilled brats on pretzel buns, and some beer was found !
Drifting in the Hills, and enjoying catching up on others drifting! 😁

Scatological note: A difference of 1 1/2 inches, or 15 1/2 inches verses 14 inches makes an incredible difference in getting up from the commode.
It made an agonized difference at 2300, 0030, 0200, 0350....ARRGGHH!

I have the taller American standard commode that flushes 11 golf balls in one big woosh. I need a two inch seat riser they don't make them.

I've got my own selfish reasons.
The heat helps to relieve the effects of my degenerative peripheral motor nerve condition.
If it's good and humid, my sweat doesn't evaporate as readily helping me to retain heat.
The heat and humidity helps me hike and that helps to keep me healthy.
I've gotten to the point where I prefer it hot and humid anyway.
And like I tell people, "my skin's not this color because I'm a cold weather person."

On this date in 1945 the Yolo was preparing to depart Okinawa. The notes from C. Homer Bast's diary for the date:

June 27, 1945

On this last day at Okinawa ships started early and by 1600 the last of our provisions were issued. Mr. Cardin took the boat and picked up sailing orders from Captain Brereton. The morale has jumped several notches even though the men know there is plenty of work to be done. There will be liberty wherever we go.

Convoys have been arriving and departing at a furious rate. LSTs appear almost daily with full loads of personnel and a great many pieces of military equipment. The future build-up has begun. Seldom do they beach at Hagushi. After arrival they steam on to the newer beaches on the eastern side of the island. Here unloading is handled efficiently and quickly. The big amphibians are prepared to return to Saipan, Guarn or Leyte for another load. APDs, DEs, DMs, PCs, PCEs, SCs and others serve as escort craft. Most of these vessels have been at Okinawa for several months at least. They desperately need to return to the rear area for availability, as well as R and R. Our turn is corning soon!

Scarcely had taps sounded when we went to GQ. Not only were all guns manned but we were deep in fog. The smoke boats were protecting us. Only one bogey was picked up and that was an observation plane stripped of everything but a camera.

My wife got me one of those toilet seat risers to make it easier for this gimpy Injun to get off the pot.
I thanked her then told her that I don't intend to ever use it, "that's for handicapped people."

Good day at the shop today but I didn't get anything done on my old truck. At one point the weather on my helpers phone said the 97 degrees on the thermometer had a feels like of 115! We got an afternoon shower around 4 and broke the heat and it was great. Monday is the pits. Glad to get to the drift and relax. Drift on!

I took a rest day from my normal morning walk and decided I needed a couple of things from Walmart. It's only a 20 minute walk there and 20 minutes back, so I decided to walk. I made it about two tenths of a mile from home and realized there was no cloud cover or shade for the rest of the walk there. The sun was brutal. I could have made it, but it was supposed to be a rest day. I hopped on the bus and rode in air conditioned comfort.
