In the summer of '76, the Randolph County, NC sheriffs dept. conducted a public "brisket burning".

To make a point to the public, they advertised the date, time and location.

They did not think it through.

I and hippies from five counties descended like locusts in order to get a 'whiff of Jiff'.

It was indeed a sight. The surrounding Waffle Houses were packed.
Been there, done that...

That was short and sweet!

Windsheild was out and in in 45 minutes. Looks good, except for the blue tape they put on around the windsheild to hold the moldings on. Supposed to leave it on 24 hours till the sealer sets up. But, in this heat it'll set up in 5-6 hours and I'll yank it off. Yeah I know, I said yank it off!

Traffic wasn't bad today. Except in a few places with construction. And of course, there were idiots that saw the giant signs, that says construction work ahead, right line closed ahead and big flashing arrows for two miles and they still wait to get over at the exact spot where the lane closer is! Total Idiots! And of course that stops our lane, to let the fools over! Arrrr! I hate morning traffic! That's why all of my Doctors Appointments are early afternoon! Never ever mornings. Did I mention I hate morning traffic??

I also stopped and got me and grandson steak biscuits and hash rounds at Hardie's. And of course I got Theo (our Miniture German Snhauser) a side order of bacon. If I don't, he cries like a lil baby. And I mean he cries. Not Bark. But cries. I'd rather him bark, than do his pittyfull lil baby cry. So he gets his bacon! He's spoiled rotten! As bad as my grandson.

So that's my day so far. All went well. Supposed to be another Hot and humid day. High 97 heat index 180. Well not really, but that's what it'll feel like to me.

So I'm going to kick back and wait till Wifey gets off from work at 1:00 and see what she has in store for me? I might want to go out and eat this evening? Im craving grilled salmon and rice pilaf? But depends on how tired Wifey is and what kind of mood she's in?

So my day marches on!

I'm not very good at investments!

I invested last year in a company named Kitty Boom Boom. I thought what a Great name for a fireworks store. Two weeks later, I saw a big Sign, Kitty Boom Boom, on the news, vice squad was raiding it and had nude Asian ladies hand cuffed and being put in patty wagons?

I once invested in a company called "SEE YOU"! I thought that's the perfect name for a travel agency! No, it literally meant, See You! They took my money and ran!

I once invested in a Bridge Development Company! The brochures were GREAT! But they never sold any bridges? They said their featured bridge "Brooklyn" had a lot of lookers, but not takers.

My chores are done. It's a hot Friday afternoon and scattered showers are around the local area. Sounds like Beer Time!

I've got some fancy stuff on hand, but after a long hot day I just feel like a cold macro brew. Today I'm having a Lone Star. The beer was originally developed by Augustus Busch in 1884 for production in his San Antonio brewery. Today the brand and formula are owned by Pabst Brewing, and is produced under contract by SABMiller in their facility in Ft. Worth, Texas.

Reasonably priced, very good beer. For native Texans there is the patriotic appeal too.

Cheers!

After all, it is the national beer of Texas!

Now that the Untied King has broken up the EU, it could now be spelled E U. Anybody else notice how close that is to EMU. The emus are going to try for a European takeover! Whose side will the penguins be on?

They'll probably ride the fence till the last second...opting for the best choice for them. We all know how wrapped up in themselves penguins are...I did reach out, but my calls weren't returned; apparently, penguins don't remember when someone does them a favor, either. I'll keep you posted...
