Two snubbies I carried for a long time each. The Colt DS was carried for 20 years, on and off duty, while I was in the NYPD. The S&W 642 has been carried by me, in holsters and in pocket carry, for over the past 20 years, including as chief of police of a small Cape Cod town. Both are fine handguns.

The 642 looks pretty good for the amount of use it has had.

The Colt was Tefloned and the barrel is a blued heavy barrel which replaced the pencil barrel originally on the handgun. The escutcheon was ground down for speedloader use. Sharp edges of the hammer were also smoothed down. This was a working handgun, not a safe queen.

I made the holster and the only Kydex I could get for free was yellow. The black paint wears off over time. This holster works as an IWB and fits in the front pocket of cargo shorts. Ankle holster for tucked in shirt.

This old flat latch Chief was amongst the last of the non model marked Chief's along with it's duty holster. Was carried a lot of years by a county Sheriff's deputy. It shoots better than it looks!

Model 36

S&W Model 36 purchased about 1977. I applied electroless nickel in 1985 after the bluing became pretty shabby.

Carried off and on for the past 35 or so years....served as an off-duty, back-up and even as a duty gun for awhile when j-frames were allowed in Crime Scene.

Still a solid shooter after all these years....and one of my favorite handguns.
