WCCPHD>..This was supposed to be a used working /worn gun thread not a collectible thread.. :) That Ni Baby Chief is worth way to much to be carrying around in a holster..:D:D

My baby chief was ridden hard long before it ever got to me (I'm not an old fogie like the rest of you!). Came with minor surface rust (wiped off with oil), cracked grips, and **** springs. Took a bit of love to get shootable, then started going downhill and lost single action, and occasionally would short-stroke just advancing the cylinder without retracting and dropping the hammer. Got my money back selling it advertised in that state so I'm not too upset, but it certainly wasn't worth too much to be carrying (when it ran correctly either!).

I purchased an Alien IWB holster for my Model 36 no dash that I inherited from my uncle when he passed away. I just can't bring myself to carry it because there is not a scratch on it, it spent it's life in a sock drawer. What should I do?

This is my well-worn Model 38. Was at a bar one night and when the bar tender found out I was a corrections officer he asked "So, are you guys into guns and stuff like cops are?". I said I liked to shoot and he told me had a gun his step dad, a retired police officer gave him. The bar tender wasn't anti-gun but he had no real interest in them and would rather have some money. $180 and it was mine.

If his step dad carried it I'm guessing it was an off duty rather than back-up gun as most Louisville PD guns were marked or lettered to reflect that. Gun locks up super tight and shoots well though the old 70's Magna Porting is, to me, of marginal value.

I had to use it defensively, using the butt of the gun to put a dent in the noggin of someone who attacked me as I left a concert once

As I normally wear a shirt tucked in so I just slip it into my front jeans pocket. Sometimes I wear a jacket and use this early Galco IWB. This is the greatest holster ever---rugged of course, but it also fits not just J and K frame snubs but also Star PD's, SW 469's, and who knows what else.
