I'll cast my vote for W231 also. Light plinking .38 loads to respectable
velocities in the magnums and much better consistancy than Unique.

Unique would work for me.

I can use Unique for every handgun caliber I load for: .38 Spec, .357 Mag, .41 Mag, .44 Spec, .45 ACP, .45 AR, and .45 Colt. I use some other powders that might be a better choice, but for one powder that will work with all of them; it's Unique.

Another vote for Unique here as well, I use more of it than any other powder in both my .38SPL and .41 Mag. I tried W231 in the .38SPL but didn't like it. I do like how it meters but thats about it.

I use W231 and HP-38 (whatever's cheaper) for .38 and .357 and see no reason to change............however, given the reviews for Unique if I run across a can of it......Question: Does it meter as well as W231?

No it does not, which is perfectly fine by me. I weigh each charge of Unique from the powder trickler to the scale

It's a flake powder,but it meters fairly well through a uniflow.

Three powders = Unique, 231 and Bullseye

Four powders = Unique, 231, Bullseye and 2400

Universal here. Sorta modern Unique. I like the lighter color, it shows up better than darker powders in the case. I mostly load 125gr through 158 gr plated bullets in .38 Spec and .357 Mag.
