I did some research online and looked around for an easy way to paint the sights on my BG380....I found some Sharpie paint pens at Home Depot...it is oil base paint...will have to see how long it lasts at CC...white in front and gold in back

I did the same thing. GREAT improvement!
The gun still needs two or three trigger pulls to get the thing to go bang, even AFTER being back to Smith, so, safe queen at this time.

I have had only one double trigger pull out of over 300 rounds and no FTF or FTE...have you tried different ammo...might need to send it back to Smith

I shot around 100 rounds last week and had two that required a second pull. I've shot 700+ rounds in my BG and I'm pretty sure I've had few than 10 requiring a second pull.

It's never happened with my HCD carry ammunition and I've got around 125-150 rounds through it.

Yeah, it's been back to Smith, came back just like it left. 5 different types of ammo. I've just picked up another type to try also.

I can't imagine adding more to the trigger pull! It's pretty stout as it is, especially for such a small pistol.

Oh what the heck, I just ordered some springs from Galloway. Passed on the short stroke trigger bar though, 98 bucks was too much for this pistol.

I ordered the increased rate hammer spring as well. My trigger has gone down with more rounds but I guess it'll go back up a bit.

Put the springs in

Well, I received the increased rate hammer spring last night. I did a 10 pull test with the existing springs, avg. 9lb 6oz. After replacing the hammer spring and the other two springs, (block spring and striker spring), the new trigger pulls were from 11lb 6oz to somewhere over 12lb. The digital pull gauge tops out at 12lbs.
So, huge increase in trigger pull in a pistol that can hardly afford it, but we'll see if it at least goes bang tomorrow at range day.
Galloway says that their trigger bar will reduce it back some, but at 98 bucks, I just can't do it. Better to just put the money into an LCP that is smaller, lighter and always goes bang with no aftermarket parts.

I guess I am lucky. I have fired around 600-700 rounds with my BG380 at the range and have not had one misfire yet with it. I have used several different kinds of ammo but still no misfires. I will agree, I would hate to think I had to tighten the trigger pull. It is hard enough now. lol

When I first got my BG380, I had constant light primer taps using various ammo. I cleaned and lubed with no relief. I shot past 200 rounds continuing to get the problem.

I shipped it back to S&W and have not had any problems since it was returned.

THAT was what I envisioned when I sent mine back to Smith. Unfortunately, when it came back (replaced firing pin block and some spring) it was exactly as it was when it left. Finally I got a stronger hammer spring and now it makes the ammo go bang. Albeit with a 12lb trigger pull.

Send the silly thing back AGAIN! If you are using good quality U.S. commercial ammunition, have tried 4-5 different kinds, and it still chokes that's ridiculous. My BG380 is marginal. It seems OK with Remington RN-FMJ but the Winchester FN-FMJ (that I would prefer to use) is liable to fail 2 rounds or so per magazine. Nice little pistol, but this light strike business is a bore. :(

Sorry for the rant and subsequent thread drift, OP. I like your sight treatment. Been doing the same with Testor's model paint for years and it does help. Good to know about those Sharpie paint pens. :)
