This is a good thread for those new to the 15-22 and wanting to get some ideas/answers about accessories and how they work/fit on the rifle.
I just bought the 15-22 and I picked up a red dot scope. Is there a way to mount the red-dot but still be able to use the stock sights when needed? I have seen photos where people have the stock sight still on the gun but I don't see how you can make them both (Stock sights and RedDot) usable? Any insight is greatly appreciated!
I think the 15-22 hand guard is free float since it only touches the barrel at the mounting nut once you remove the end cap piece.0) Free-float the hand guard. I see this as the must-have upgrade because it helps the accuracy of the rifle. It involves buying the conversion barrel nut for $24 (available from someone here), and the Yankee-Hill Machine rifle-length smooth forearm ($120). This forearm is 2-inches longer than the stock handguard, and will therefiore increase the sight radius, making the rifle even more accurate than merely floating the handguard.

The YHM will certainly look pretty damn sweet and make your 15-22 look more like a 3-gunners setup.
