My K-22....again.....w/ box!

Nice looking package, Misty (the gun:rolleyes:). I shot my K22 for the first time last week and it is sweet.

Glad you are excited about your package... see previous disclaimer...:D

Thanks for the compliment on my package Barry. Glad you like the gun too!;)

A blue steel screwdriver just sold on ebay for $76.00 a few days ago.Check ebay you'll find one.P.S what year was the gun shipped?

I think the correct sight screwdriver is a nickel steel model and not a blued steel for your early 1948 K-22,They cost about 80.00 to 100.00 on ebay.Look out for stainless steel reproductions.Ask the seller if the handle is magnetic.Good luck, I have been able to find both types (blue and nickel)in the past month.

i just purchased one of these, but i haven't picked it up yet. can hardly wait. yours looks a hair nicer though. am hoping it is acurate. i bought a high standard m-100, that i can't hit anything with.

In my experience, all K-22's are very accurate. To get the most accuracy though, try some different kinds of .22 ammo...it makes a difference. Seems like each one has its favorite ammo...again, just my experience.

Late to the thread but I gotta say...that is a sweet looking K-22 you have! Makes me realize I need to get busy finding one for myself.

Congrats on a fine looking classic S&W!

The Box - what's the big deal about it?

I too have a K22 that I bought from a co-worker back in 1984. Paid $225 for it and it came with a box. I distinctly remember him saying "keep the box". Well, I didn't heed the advice, as I just thought that geez - it's just an ol' cardboard box with a name printed on it. What's the big deal about keeping a cardboard box?

I'm 52 and to this day, I still don't see the value of keeping a cardboard box. What gives about the value of a box? I still have the gun - great shooter as I bought it to shoot - not to be a safe queen sitting in the box.

Just wondering from you collectors.

Well, if it's a gold box and in good shape it's worth north of a hundred bucks. Some older blue boxes half that or more.
Some guys -like me- will take an old revolver in above average condition and box it up with the tools and paperwork that came with the gun.
Shooter revolvers don't get that red carpet treatment but the good guns do!

Fantastic looking K22 and it's wonderful when you get the box and especially one in that condition.
