The book says they made 3" square butt too, however we have it on good authority that none were ever delivered to the NYPD. We dont know if they were really made or not...

I'll kill this before it gets out of hand. It is a real NY-1; however, it is a round butt in square butt grips and a little Photoshop. I posted this last April Fools Day as a joke. It is the same 3" in my post above.

Oh I would never pay more than half that, only because I have zero interest in a square butt.

Nice but pricey...
Its also not quite old enough. I like the 1946 transitional models.

They would be the one shipped just after the war. I am fortunate enough to have an early SV marked gun and a slightly later S gun. Both of them were sold through the NYPD. These guns got me in to the NYPD stuff and NY-1s seemed like a natural progression.

Being just outside NYC the local shops had lots of them at one point, even the semi-autos. Nowadays none are to be had and I'm sorry I didn't buy more of them...

The New York State police guns seems like a nice area to collect.

They have models 28, 520, 686 and a few more...

There's a snubbie round butt DAO NY1 on the auction site for $2,000 right now. No bids, obviously. That price is insane. Not even close IMO.

I'm in the market for one but not even for half that dollar amount.
