Every year, during my Birthday month, I have treats that I avoid for the whole rest of the year.
One of those is frosted cherry pop tarts, the other's double stuff oreos.
This year was kinda disappointing. The pop tarts had less filling and less frosting than I remember and the double stuffs were more like one and one third stuffs. My wife noticed this too.
I'm sure the price was way higher than last years.
Fortunately, my niece sent me some frozen raw chocolate chip cookie dough as a Birthday present and that cooks up yummy.
At least my favorite cigars have stayed the same.

I'm going to shatter your world because I'm a meaneyedcatz.
Double stuff Oreos have the same amount of coagulated sugary grease/lard/pennzoil filling. They just pump it full of air so it looks like more.

Sorry for the bad news, it's just what I do. I'm under contract to do it.

I hope your cigars are a little extra special, that way you don't care about how much of what you are eating. Just enjoying the most excellent pop tarts (okay, toaster pastries for the copy write people!) and oreos is a good reward and birthday present for being good all year. And hey, Happy Birthday from a neighbor to the East-North East area from you!

Oreos dunked in milk...Love'em. Iced Strawberry Pop Tarts toasted or not...Yummy. Strawberry Toaster Strudels....Even better. Cinnamon Rolls with Icing....Fantastic.

MOON PIES...Deal me In!!

Another right of passage from my daddy:

To be authentic it needs to be an RC Cola!

As a kid, my brother and I would have to sweep up the apartments that dad was building. The dust from sanded drywall would get in your throat and turn into a concrete like substances. The only way we found to get it out, was to chug a warm bottle of dad's RC or what worked even better was to chug mom's Diet Rite! That pealed the crud right out of your throat along with a few layers of skin! In retrospect, I think the Diet Right worked better because it was sweetened with Saccharin. And everybody knows any food substitute that works well get banned!

I wonder if all Pop Tart brand pop tarts are being made this way. The pumpkin spice version was also light on the filling and frosting. I was very disappointed. The Walmart brand is MUCH better, at least with the cherry and brown sugar cinnamon.

Well ya gotta do what ya gotta do.
If that is the case though, they need to use just a bit more air.

Maybe you can get in on the lawsuit filed against Kellogg's for lack of filling.

1sr world problems.

Addendum to the above post.

Trader Joe's Jo Jo's absolutely blow Oreos out of the water. And they're still made in the USA. Oreos hecho en Mexico.

Ditto the toaster pastries. It has a limited selection, but the organic frosted strawberry are the bomb.

The down side, of course, is you have to live near a Trader Joe's. We go to Danbury CT. about 4 times a year and load up.

The nearest Trader Joe's for us is an all day road trip.

My youngest son's senior year in High School, he had a almost full time job, plus 2 random part time jobs and kept his grades up for the half day he attended school. He would just plain forget to eat! He got down to skin and bones.

So my wife kept the center console in his vehicle stocked with Cherry Pop Tarts. I kept finding Pop Tart Boxes in the trash, but not once did she ever buy me a Pop Tarts! (So I would help myself to Dunkin Donuts!)
