Rumor has it that by next year Dr. Pepper will no longer be made?!?!

If they were to get rid of Dr Pepper I would have to go to one of those addiction centers to get myself cleaned up.

I only have 12, 12 packs, and 5 cases in the house. I didn't know my supply had gotten so low.

When I still lived in the peopples democratic "republic" of austin, they came out with Dr. Pepper Ten. Before I moved, I picked up 8 cases of the Ten cans. My sister freaked but said nothing. I went through them limiting myself to two 12 oz cans per day. By the time I got to my last two cans, I finally found a store here that sold it in 20 oz bottles and bought about 20 bottles of the stuff. I was told they had just started carrying it down here nad that was their first shipment. It had not been selling as folks were skeered to try it but, I said I loved it. After I bought what I could carry, the next few folks in line scarfed the rest.

Here's a question for you:ever had a carbonated lemonade? I've always wondered why I ever saw this until recently I saw some at Kroger~it's pretty good but the stuff they sell is kinda strong, not sweet very much and actually really kinda sour.

First time I tried it I was expecting a very sweet concoction as most stuff is here in the US and I took a big'ol swig, didn't do that twice!

Wm sells the one and only product with mountain dew in it ill have. I think its called: kickstart? and is made up of dew, juice and whatever. Its OK and is the only so-called "energy" drink ive had that I actually feel like works. Its a buck and a quarter a can and has about 5 diff flavors. I like the Fuit Punchc, lemon-lime and graps flavors--havent tried the rest. Anyway, its kinds like carbonated lemonaid.

Considering what a profit center it is...and they have achieved their goal of making it a national brand. There is that dispute over "that" Dr. Pepper as opposed to the "Original."
RC Cola is still around, just not as widely distributed.
I introduced some people to ice cream floats made with Dr. pepper-they thanked me for for it.

Around here when Rootbeer isnt around? we use Cima Red ((Big Red clone)) w/ vanilla icecream--mmmmmmmmmmmmm.

If Dr Pepper is going out of business, they sure are spending a lot of money on advertising. The Diet Dr Pepper commercials seem to be on non stop. I don't think I've had a Dr Pepper since I was in Texas (of course) in the Army, that would have been around 1976.

Id be more than glad to ship you a case of it but, I dont think it would pass through customs? :D

Here in Utah, the peanuts got poured into a bottle of RC Cola, if there was any in your machine, or Pepsi. You would have been mocked badly had you used Coke.

We used to play a poker game called "Dr Pepper Black Mariah." 10's, 2's and 4's were wild, as well as one of the black Queens.

Anyone remember this junk?

Yes. I always thought it was a poor attempt to capitolize on Dr. Pepper. The only restaurant here that sold it was Mr. Gatties (Gattitown) which originated in Austin. The only store locally that you can find it is in Pittman's.

I don't get the hate for soda,I think the whole "healthy food" thing is just showing how little they know about it.

I'll drink Dr.Pepper but it's not my thing, about the only change I've made with soda is I only drink it when I'm eating.

It's not a hate thing for me. It more of it's sickening sweet. So sweet after half a can I have a headache.

Well, if they could get rid of only ONE "soft drink" I'd vote for Mountain Dew...it contains the most sugar of any soda and has destroyed more teeth than anything else I know. Well, except maybe crystal meth, but that's another story.

Nope, Sunkist has more sugar. And almost as much caffeine.

Several times at a cafe I've asked for DP. The cafe only sold Coke products. The little waitress brought a Pib. One sip and she had to get me sweet tea. Another place the waitress told me no only Pib. You want tea instead. She knew the difference.

I like the H-E-B house brand Big Red imitation. There are also many other "Big Red" house label knockoffs. I can't taste any difference between Big Red and the H-E-B house brand. Makes a great ice cream float. BTW - who is it that makes all those house brand sodas?

If you have a Kroger around go check it out,it's literally lemonade with carbonation,it's pretty good and a nice change of pace.

Which is a point with me~I can't drink the same thing all the time so if you follow me to the store twice you'll notice I never buy the same soda,it varies from trip to trip I usually buy house brand (Big K,Chill,Sam's) but I'll try odd brands if the price is good i.e. there's a Korean Aloe drink I love which IS expensive but worth it,had Jarritos Mexican sodas, tried Doc Robert's,Jones....

You get the idea,I'll try anything once :D

Im not sure who makes them? but I do know the house brand from WM isnt very good. Ill stick with the regulars.
