Right now, today, this very minute, I can go to the Colorado School of Mines and have one of the students solve any math problem (and I mean any) in exchange for a six-pack of Dr. Pepper.
I call BS on that one. Dr Pepper is still just as popular here as it ever was. They sell millions of 'em. Even restaurants that carry pepsi products have Dr P because that's what customers want.
I'm a Pepper myself. Got one sittin' next to me as I type this.
Dr Pepper - Its a Southern thang.![]()
with any kind of luck at all they will stop making mountain dew as well
My heart skipped a beat when I read the title of this thread & I hope & pray this will not happen. I would miss Dr. Pepper big time if it went away.
On a side note, I'm wondering why people posted on this thread that they don't drink pop or haven't in quite awhile...what does that have to do with the original statement or subject matter here? I have cut back quite a bit on pop myself, but I don't EVER see myself quitting it completely.
How can anyone drink that stuff? Cough syrup tastes better to me. Yuck! Right up there with Red Bull!
Great for kids also with the caffeine and sugar.
I hope it doesn't go the way of RC Cola.
Doggone it, Ringo, I don't even drink soft drinks any more, and haven't had a Dr. Pepper for twenty years, but you got me thinking about it, and as I posted above, I liked it when I was a kid, so just a little while ago I had to go out, and I stopped and bought a bottle of the stuff. Says it's made under the authority of the Dr. Pepper Company in Plano, TEXAS!!! Heck, with those credentials, it ain't going anywhere.
I agree with the posters who said that it don't seem to tease the same. Or maybe my taste buds are giving out.
Oh well....
Best Regards, Les
Around here you can even buy Dr. Pepper syrup to put on your ice cream. The first time I saw that was at the old Dublin, TX (privately owned) DP bottling plant where they made DP with real sugar until it was sold few years ago.
Maybe you can just get it like that in Texas!! I've never seen it in that form here in WV. I looked at the label of the one I bought tonight, and the first ingredient was water and the second was corn syrup. Real sugar could very well make the difference.
Best Regards, Les
If they were to get rid of Dr Pepper I would have to go to one of those addiction centers to get myself cleaned up.
I only have 12, 12 packs, and 5 cases in the house. I didn't know my supply had gotten so low.
Here's a question for you:ever had a carbonated lemonade? I've always wondered why I ever saw this until recently I saw some at Kroger~it's pretty good but the stuff they sell is kinda strong, not sweet very much and actually really kinda sour.
First time I tried it I was expecting a very sweet concoction as most stuff is here in the US and I took a big'ol swig, didn't do that twice!![]()
Considering what a profit center it is...and they have achieved their goal of making it a national brand. There is that dispute over "that" Dr. Pepper as opposed to the "Original."
RC Cola is still around, just not as widely distributed.
I introduced some people to ice cream floats made with Dr. pepper-they thanked me for for it.
If Dr Pepper is going out of business, they sure are spending a lot of money on advertising. The Diet Dr Pepper commercials seem to be on non stop. I don't think I've had a Dr Pepper since I was in Texas (of course) in the Army, that would have been around 1976.
Anyone remember this junk?

I don't get the hate for soda,I think the whole "healthy food" thing is just showing how little they know about it.
I'll drink Dr.Pepper but it's not my thing, about the only change I've made with soda is I only drink it when I'm eating.
Well, if they could get rid of only ONE "soft drink" I'd vote for Mountain Dew...it contains the most sugar of any soda and has destroyed more teeth than anything else I know. Well, except maybe crystal meth, but that's another story.
