As I mentioned earlier, she may be bipolar.

This happens more frequently than we admit. My mom and my wife only had one thing is common. They were both capable of going nice and calm to full blown hurricane in an instant.

My son's wife and my wife got into it while I was in Afghanistan and since I returned in 2018 I have seen my two grand kids twice. Now I have been invited over by myself but I refuse to go.
This fight affects the whole family and it really crushes my soul. So before you rush to judgement beware that there is this occurring more than people admit.

After a hurricane rant over nothing important, I told my four children "Do you think I would of been stupid if she was like this when I married her"??

I say it's a two way street. Mutual love, mutual forgiveness, mutual respect.

I take myself, and my commitments, seriously, and expect my wife to do the same.

Didn't work out for me, the first time around. Because I ain't no doormat.

Happily married now, second time around, some 30+ years.

(The back up solution, in my opinion, to a bad marriage, to a bad wife, for the traditional minded, is to have a good girlfriend at the same time, but it's a whole lot less stressful to just have a good wife.)

Got a Last-minute call from Jeff asking for a ride today he was not sure of the time. I respond, ok. But I was unwilling to continue picking him up do the fact that the Empress was unwilling do so. It was that the Empress and detested each other, to the degree we did.
Jeff responds "'Ill" get someone else to take care of it. I don't ever want hear about the empress again.

I don't want to lose a long-term friendship over this, but enough is enough is enough.

That's good to hear. I mean, heck, haven't they been friends for 20 years? Although Fred is always willing to go the extra mile and pour oil on troubled waters, so to speak, I personally hope Jeffrey can see the error of his ways, grow a backbone, and stand up to the Empress occasionally.

I know he claims to have stood up to her...once.

Apparently Jeffrey came home from work one evening and found there was no hot water. So, he called the Empress into the front room and read her the proverbial "riot act"...because, as he put it, if there's one thing he can't stand it's doing dishes in cold water.
