Offered first on this forum: The official start date of the Highway Patrolman (pre 28) is given as April 15th, 1954. This HP shipped 3 weeks later on May 6th to Sloss & Brittain Inc. of San Francisco. SF was also the home of King Gunsight Co. and this HP is equipped with a King marked hammer (and trigger?). It has also had action work and engine turning on the hammer and trigger. I have NOT removed the side plate to see if the turning continues on the interior of the action.
It also came with a period (pre 1963) 2 digit postal zone address Tyler T Grip and Flaig #1 trigger shoe (aksi sikd bt Tyler). I removed the shoe but it is included.
Note: this gun is not SWHF lettered, however, Dr. Jinks had provided a ship date through the SWCA. At the Phoenix symposium he pulled up the actual invoice and allowed me to take a photo of his computer screen as he did not have his printer with him. This gun was in a single order of 25 identical 4" HPs shipped to the distributor.
The gun is all matching including the magna grips and has the original blue finish. The action is incredibly smooth and crisp.
$1500 shipped ConUS. Payment by check or MO although a personal check may be held for clearance 3 day non firing, non diaassembly inspection although if returned, the buy pays shipping both way.
