The Mrs made homemade mincemeat and baked a pie yesterday.

I ended up going over to my best friend's place for Thanksgiving. He bought a deep fried turkey stuffed with boudin. The reheat instructions said to take a stick of butter and rub it all over the skin to keep it moist. Being Jeff, he decided that two sticks of butter would be better, melted in the microwave and poured over the bird. He also laid claim to all the dark meat. I had no problem with that, as the breast meat was quite moist. Plus, once I plated the turkey I just grabbed a big spoon and basted it and the boudin rice with the butter/juice from the pan. It was REALLY good. Finished myself off with some of each of the four mini-pies his girlfriend bought for us. How I managed to waddle around my usual 2 mile evening walk I don't know.
