M&P 15-22 Picture Thread

I have never had a problem using NON-ACETONE Polish Remover. Use the regular acetone kind on polymer (plastic) and you may get any thing from melting, to finish damage, to a white blush around the area. I have use this on several guns/mags and lots of plastic parts with nail polish and lacquers. We make many plastic and composite parts on our CNC Machine and frequently highlight the engraved part number or other identification.

Test first on an area that is hidden and NON-STRUTURAL. For blued or metal surfaces, knock yourself out with either one.

Your mileage may vary.

MAKE SURE YOU USE NON-CLORINATED BRAKE FLUID. REGULAR FLUID WILL DISSOLVE THE POLYMER!

NOT BRAKE FLUID.......BRAKE CLEANER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Brake fluid will take paint off of anything, and it is illegal now to sell brake cleaner that is chlorinated, EPA laws.

I had a roll of led lighting left over from a rock light project on my jeep, so I decided to do some safe lights with it. Soldered up some leads to a $3 switch from radio shack and wired it to a multi volt transformer I had laying around. Took a picture after I put the 15-22 to bed. I have them running at 12v now, but I can turn it down to 9v to dim them a little if I choose. They're pretty damn bright right now , but I like it.

This pic is with all the lights in the room off and no flash.

i did a new Glock 34 last night in white nail polish, dried for a few hours and then the brake cleaner, works perfect, every time.

I haven't, but I've seen paint jobs that have had BF on it ... Sad looking.

the safe looks great, but if you are such an inadequate solder'er like i am, then a set of white rope lights work great. just affix around the inside and run the plug out the whole and you are done.

just another alternative for those of us w/o electrical aptitude!!!!

Thanks guys. Rope lights would work too, but how would you turn them on and off. Motion sensor??
I happened to have this stuff laying around from another project and was bored the other day. All it cost me was $3 at radio shack for the switch..

i would use a stomp switch from a christmas tree light, step on, step off. your's is great for free!!!!! great job again...it can get dark in there especially when hiding from the wife after i bought a new gun!!!

If you use LED lights, no switch is necessary. Even burning continuously the lights generate no heat and will burn for several years.

That's true for the most part. You'll have individual led go out but probably not noticeable overall. I've installed the led strip at bars before for the bar backs and I they last around 2 - 5 years before enough are out that they want them replaced. I like the low voltage because I didn't have to run a full size cord through the back. I just drilled an 1/8th inch hole for bell wire (20 gauge).
But I'm also an electrician and like to tinker.

1522 Update

I had tog] remove the Foliage Magpul Furniture for my 15-22's bigger brother. Here is what I have currently.

I bought a black rear sight, knock off rail covers, and a trs-25

For those with the MOE hand guard, does the AFG make it too chunky?

Strait out of the box. I was not really looking for a camo but hear it is. Bought a black one it had problems & one thing let to another gun shop said they would do a buy back & give me another. Not wanting to take a chance on one from the same batch I got this one & I have to say, maybe because it runs as smooth as butter, it is growing on me.
So now I am wondering tan or black add on's ?
OR ? I am open to any ideas, what y'all think ?
I have seen a lot of great stuff here but not many camo.

Well here my little up date, I am almost embarrassed to show my build on the cheap. but I like it , funds are short & I wanted it ready to take my Grandson hunting some of those elusive bushy tails.
I would like a Hogue grip & a stock that does not wobble in OD green. But this will do for now & the best part is he thinks it's awesome.
