To be a forum god

Proper conduct is necessary
* Post at least 50 times every day. It takes practice. You need to get that total up ... to establish legitimacy.
* Be the first to respond to a newby's post and suggest that the OP is stupid for [__fill in the blank___].
* Don't forget to remind the forum that you have a gazillion years of experience. You're a legend [ in your own mind ].
* If you have nothing to contribute, don't let that stop you. Post, "Sorry, can't help you." Because every thread needs your input.
* If the topic is familiar to you, try, "Oh no, not again! We discussed this till we were blue in the face back in the 80's. You should have looked in the dusty archives!"
* Demand that the thread be closed because another god has stepped in and YOUR AUDIENCE is starting to listen to him.

Remember this: some of the gods went shooting ONCE ... a long time ago. Feel sorry them. They spend their entire lives online.

Happy Christmas !

I have seen everything you described. Not on this forum tho. I admit it, there are other forums I belong to. Got to say, the one that really bugs me is the "Not this again" comment. Stuff like that can be quite disheartening to a new member. Although I haven't been a victim of many snarky comments, you have to take it in stride. Once you start showing signs of butt hurt, well, you see what happens.

This comes up every month...

I don't think he's referring...

Isn't that one letter "G" supposed to be Capitalized ?

Ba hum bug..........

I don't think he's referring to God as much as forum gods. And it looks like somebody got their feelings hurt but they need to be more specific about what the problem is. And I don't think there's a problem with telling somebody you've read their post, especially a newbie, and that more than likely someone with real knowledge will probably be along soon.

Let's jump the Demi-Gods.
That's the guys who never start that many threads, but know more about any subject that is posted.
It reminds me of when I moved to Vegas. That was the first time I was ever around that many New Yorkers.
Lots of them out there. And they always knew more about everything than I did.
So I would try to bring up a subject that they couldn't possibly know about.
Like - have you heard that the USDA has published new crop rotation guidelines? Yes, in fact they had read the entire report.
I only read the summary.
Damn!
