WAR DECLARED in Israel

I hope it works out well. My thinking is that Hamas is going to get hammered and I hope it does not bring others into the conflict. While Israel has been a good ally we need to remember that to them Israel comes first so we should be careful accepting all they say on face value. I still remember the USS Liberty

You and I both remember the USS Liberty, which Israel claimed
they just didn't know it was a US ship. Hence I don't trust them
any more the others in the region.

What I find remarkable, is with this constant level of danger faced by the Israeli population, private firearm ownership is quite restrictive. There was a YouTube video a few years ago talking about same. I'll see if I can find it. Given the IDF's failure to protect these borders and settlements, at least their civilians should be allowed the opportunity to defend themselves.

I've been told by church members who have either visited themselves or relatives how have that Israel is actually quite liberal now. There is a large faction there who think the answer is appeasement.

I was with the 509th Airborne in Italy at the time. Once we were stood down from our alert to jump in and seize an airfield for you guys, we ended up prepping most of our wartime contingency resupply pallets so the Air Force could drop them to the Egyptian Third Army which the Israelis had cut off and surrounded in the Sinai. Just one of many times folks should have asked themselves the question "Do we really want to take on the Israelis?"

Say what? Which side were we on?

I was in Germany in 1973. We were on high alert and my medical unit was preparing for mass casualties.

After being home from Vietnam less than a year our unit was staged at Pope AFB in 73. IIRC there were only a handful of us that had served in Vietnam. We were looking at each other like WT_ is going on?????

The news this morning is reporting that with all the electronic surveillance (telecommunications interceptions etc) over the Gaza Strip, HAMAS went old school and used handwritten letters and couriers as their preferred method of communication.

I sat in a duce and a half on full alert for the 1967 War. V-Corps. Nuclear dispersal.
I now fully expect the rubble to bounce in Gaza.
Could they get any angrier?

That's what I would like to know. For example, how does hamas get its funding? That is a thread I'm sure some don't want pulled.

Hamas governs the Gaza Strip. They get money same as other small, poor countries - any way they can and from anyone who will give. On top of taxation. Iran sends money, as does Qatar.
