This 3" Model 37 was in pretty much this condition when I got it for $175. I have since replaced the grips. I did bob the hammer.

I like to carry these old finish challenged but mechanically sound pieces. I don't have to worry about hurting them. I wipe them down regularly, and sometimes blow
the pocket lint out of them. About once a year, I detail strip them and soak them in diesel fuel overnight.

This ultralight little 342 with Crimson stocks is my daily companion, 6 days a week (Im a pastor, I preach unarmed!) I made a IWB holster I appendix carry, honestly I forget it's there. The finish started to fade early on, but I will keep this little J frame till I depart. I call it "pocket patina".

Thanks, that old chiefs special is a favorite of mine.

The knife is a Benchmade Presidio Tanto. I don't think that they sell them any more. It is one tough knife. It has lived through torture on the farm, in the firehouse, and in my workshop. It is one of the Mel Pardue designs.

Here is mine. Most of the wear is from the holster. This pistol was worn everyday by a retired NYC police officer. It sat in a safe for over 20 years before I received it as a gift from his 93 year old widow.

Sometimes carry this model 42 no dash. It has more finish wear than the photo shows. But I have so many choices that they have to wait their turn to be carried.

My edc SW 360. Switches between pocket and ankle carry. Loaded with Golden Saber .38+p. Switched out the hammer with a factory 638 hammer for a semi-bobbed function. Disabled locking system.

Most of the wear is on the high corners.

Chiefs Special that used to be carried in an ankle holster by my late brother in law when he was a LEO.
Now I often just drop in my pocket for a quick errand.
