FBI agent loses gun during dance back flip

Federal Knicklehead

This happened last night in a Denver nightclub. The news people on this broadcast really downplayed it. I thought the agent acted like an *** after the ND especially since someone was hit.

A federal agent Glock-legging someone else, rather than just oneself, takes things to a whole nother level. (j/k).

This behavior is plain irresponsible. Picking up a gun by the trigger is never a good idear. After he discharged his gun into the leg of a bystander, it appears that the agent throws up his hands as if to say, 'wasn't me', or some such dismissive reaction.

I took it as a sign that he gives up, for fear a nightclub patron decides to take a shot back . . .

You know, I understand why he failed to handle the pistol safely--he just got exposed, dropped his gun in public, between that and the sheer embarrassment he was probably rushing to pick it up before anyone noticed. Note I said I understand it, not that I condone it.

Side note, this is why you don't pick up your gun after your drop it, you let an RSO do it.

After the gun discharged, though? That is what I normally term "time to serious the **** up". Not raise your hands like an idiot. You're supposed to be an FBI agent, for Chrissake.

Also--remember, guns should only be in the safe, reliable hands of government agents!

, Observations;

1 - poor holster

2 - Agent panicked and grabbed the gun. The gun fell out, you're a dope for letting it happen, but maintain composure and all is well. Take the extra few seconds of embarrassment, slowly regain control of the gun, reholster, and accept the lesson learned.

3 - Condition one, cocked and locked, would have made this nothing more than an embarrassing dance move and failed retention of a firearm. His bosses probably would never have heard about it. Condition one, it's not dangerous, as some might believe.

4 - there is nothing "special" about this agent. His total lack of concern for where the bullet went, who might have been injured, etc., is very concerning. By raising his hands in a "my bad" manner, shows me he was only concerned about himself. Putting others first is usually instinctive and hard to teach. His instinct was self preservation, which does not bode well for serving the public. My guess is that we won't become a fire fighter.
