Whatever they hoped to gain from this attack, I just don't understand how they think they'll get anywhere when they start by killing kids and grandparents and posting it on the internet. Especially Israeli grandparents and children.
You and I and most other Americans can't understand what Hamas did because we don't harbor in our hearts a deep and ancient hatred for other people. Yeah, we have agitators and loudmouths and a few dangerous extremists in our country, but for the most part, we Americans live in peace with those of other races, religions, or national origins.
In plenty of other places around the world, strife and conflict over race, ethnicity, religion, etc., is a normal part of daily life. You can be denied your rights in some countries because your parents belonged to the wrong tribe, or the wrong religion, or the wrong political party.
Those killers the other morning didn't need to think they would get anywhere by murdering innocent people; the murders, motivated by bigotry and hatred, were the object of the attack, as terrible as that sounds.
Every single day, every one of us should thank heaven that we live in this country...
