WAR DECLARED in Israel

After four days things are still escalating. In a few days or weeks Hamas will be hurting and Israel can turn its attention to the real head of the snake. I think that everyone can agree that unless Iran is brought to heel now, the world will continue to see terror via proxy armies for generations to come. Next time it will most likely be a nuke from one of Iran's proxy puppets.

He’s not the only one who opened their mouth before contemplating possible ramifications. Mia Khalifa, a former porn star and supporter of the Palestinians, lost a job with Playboy due to pro Palestinian comments she made. Another case of opening her mouth without thinking.

It hurts more than you think. She sold a $4 million dollar mansion here in Portland and bought a much smaller home to be close to Playboy. But, them's the breaks, kid.

A Look In The Mirror

Their bordar fences and barriers were breached as are ours with the infiltrators using any and all means to do so. Bad actors crossed over or under the lines of demarcation. There was no one there to stop them! They spread out and acquired targets of opportunity, Battleship Row was there for the pickin. I can't help but think that this is but a prelude or rehearsal to bring the "Great Satan", as we are referenced, to its knees. Combat Readiness and Force Protection fostered by eternal vigilance, do we have it? I pray we do. But, the bad actors are already here. I pray for us all!

I have always told my children that you can do ANYTHING you want, as long as you are prepared to accept the consequences.

Take out the bulldozers as part of the payback against Gaza. Bulldozers were used to get through the fence.

Mehmet used to impale Christians back in the 1400s. A good read is Constantine's Sword.

Thanks, Rusty.

Whatta mess.

I support the Israelis, 100%. I think they have to accept that their people held hostage will die. They must, for the future of their country, destroy Hamas. I also regret the innocent Palestinian civilians who will die during the Israeli reprisal.

I see no alternative.

Ain't pretty.

Best to act quick.

This ^ is the most realistic perspective I've read on this situation thus far...

The only explanation I can think of is that the evil subhumans behind the unspeakable acts of horror directed against women, children, babies and the elderly wanted to provoke a massive and deadly retaliation. A retaliation that will inevitably cause massive pain, death and misery to their own people. What they hope to gain from this is beyond my ability to speculate.

There's been a fair amount of analysis and informed speculation about just what Hamas hoped to gain from this attack.

Apparently, Israel and Saudi Arabia were on the verge of normalizing relations, and that would have disadvantaged the Iranians and other entities whose real goal is not a Palestinian state, but the destruction of Israel.

This attack has set the clock back on peace in that region for at least a generation...which was most likely the real goal all along. The leaders of Hamas couldn't care less about the welfare of their people, and if a massive Israeli invasion of Gaza kills a lot of civilians, so much the better, from their perspective.

It's beyond the ability of most of us to understand it because we would never use innocent and unarmed non-combatants to achieve the goal of prolonging a conflict rather than resolving it.

Whatever they hoped to gain from this attack, I just don't understand how they think they'll get anywhere when they start by killing kids and grandparents and posting it on the internet. Especially Israeli grandparents and children.

You and I and most other Americans can't understand what Hamas did because we don't harbor in our hearts a deep and ancient hatred for other people. Yeah, we have agitators and loudmouths and a few dangerous extremists in our country, but for the most part, we Americans live in peace with those of other races, religions, or national origins.

In plenty of other places around the world, strife and conflict over race, ethnicity, religion, etc., is a normal part of daily life. You can be denied your rights in some countries because your parents belonged to the wrong tribe, or the wrong religion, or the wrong political party.

Those killers the other morning didn't need to think they would get anywhere by murdering innocent people; the murders, motivated by bigotry and hatred, were the object of the attack, as terrible as that sounds.

Every single day, every one of us should thank heaven that we live in this country...

As the Hamas are supposedly hiding out in an extensive network of tunnels under Gaza, it occurred to me that the Israelis might pump it full of Cyanide gas rather than becoming tunnel rats. Wouldn't that be ironic? But it does pose a serious question. As it seems that the Israelis are planning a "take no prisoners" campaign, how do you kill all those Hamas hiding out in many miles of tunnels? Seems like a huge bloodbath is in the making. Sort of like in Stalingrad or Iwo Jima.

I agree that for the actual killers that was the object, but the people at the top that sent them to do it had to know that it wouldn't look good to anyone in the west and most in the east. They also had to know that the reprisals would be brutal. The only 2 things I can come up with is that they are merely the first units in a multinational war with Israel. Or that they just think that the rest of the Muslim countries will rise up to avenge them. Either way, it's gonna be mighty costly on their civilians.

Supposedly they even told the Israeli PM.

If the Egyptians knew, why didn't Mossad know? Is Egyptian intelligence that much better or is Israel that incompetent?

Why would the Egyptians lie about giving out intelligence?

If true it's either incompetence or intentional.

I'm thinking intentional.

Like a Kosher Pearl Harbor....

At one time the jews living in Palestine were terrorists attacking the British, our closest ally. They stole the land they have from others. You can get what you want if you commit terror. Look at any map from 1947 or prior. You reap what you so.

I would hesitate before applying the term "terrorist" to a group attacking regular army troops. Were George Washington's troops terrorists? Granted some of the activity taking place down here in the South, on both sides approach "terrorist". But few fighters anywhere, at any time, approach the level of senseless beastiality consistently exhibited by Hamas, and others falsely claiming to be following the Koran. Maybe some of the actions in Africa, the Nazis at their worst. isolated incidents with Russian and Japaneses forces in WW2. When you kidnap women, beat and rape them, then throw them in an open pickup truck bed, drive across the border, and parade them through the streets on display and subject to further physical abuse by the crowds, You put yourself in a very elite group, and they are not called "freedom fighters.'

I see what you did there. Well played :D

I expect the IDF is brushing up on the lessons of Monte Cassino. Attacking entrenched defenders in bombing rubble gets bloody fast; tanks can't roll. And it didn't fall for four months.

"Losses for the Allied forces numbered 105,000 casualties, and the Germans suffered 80,000 casualties." Battle of Monte Cassino | Description & Facts | Britannica
