WAR DECLARED in Israel

As far as the "where", the "why", and even the "when" . . . that falls under the "must not be discussed here" dictum , but those who don't know the ancient history and the inextricable biblical explanations, can only rely on feelings and political leanings/biases to place the blame on Israel for this.

The only "cure" for this in the minds of those is the annihilation of the Jews and those of us on this side believe for very good reasons that this cannot and will not happen. Take it to the bank.

What Israel, population 6 million, has done successfully since 1948 is win fierce, short wars. Sometimes you can't make that happen, and being outnumbered 700,000,000 to 6,000,000 may not work if this goes long. How are the Saudis, with unlimited resources, doing against the Shi'a Iranian-funded groups in impoverished Yemen over the past 10 years?

Do note Russia's Putin (Iran's ally) yesterday came out for the Palestinians and blamed us for the troubles because of our support for Israel.

1967 was a long time ago; things (tactics, weapons, leadership) change.

Palestinians' of many persuasions have been living in that part of the world long before it was converted into a Jewish State. A good friend of mine is a Christian Palestinian who moved his family over here due to the way they were mistreated by the Israelis, including having family land that went back for generations taken away much the way we did to our native people's. I'm not defending this terrorist move by Hamas in any way but have always felt the Israelis have mistreated the Palestinians the same way we did our native tribes, which I also condemn. There is truth that Israel has a right to exist, we all are aware of the suffering delivered to them during the hard times. At the same time I will advocate for a Palestinian state.

This is not quite accurate. 21 centuries ago the Israelis held that land under the permission of the Romans. It was later battled over by Muslims of various denominations, including Malmuts from Egypt, and from about the 12th to 20th century by Ottoman Turks. The British had the land in question in the 1940s, having taken it from the Turks, with constant friction between Zionists and "Palestinians" All of these combatants lived in what is now Israel and adjacent areas. The territory was British. Tired of the constant fighting, and looking to resettle the few surviving Jews from Europe, Britian divided the territory, setting aside Israel for the Zionists. and Palestine for the Palestinians and Jerusalem as a shared area. The Palestinians did not like the deal They wanted all, even though all did not belong to them in the first place. Admittedly, some land-holders were being displaced to different areas. But this happened both to Palestinians and Zionists. The Jews, having just lost over 6,000,000 souls to hatred in Europe, took the deal. So the Palestinians had a country but it was not the the total possession they wanted. They currently are displaced because they chose to be displaced. The deal was on the table and the Palestinians walked away
That is a rough history of the land but I believe a fairly accurate description of what "country" owned what

About an hour ago I saw an interview on the TV news with the IDF spokesperson. One of the items he discussed was the awesome amount of firepower that Hezbollah has at its disposal should they to decide to attack Israel from the north. If that happens, then what does our leader do?

There has been a lot of talk about Mossad being asleep at the switch by its alleged failure to detect what Hamas was up to in time to prevent or blunt the attack. True or not, why wouldn't any of the counterpart intelligence services of other countries (such as the CIA and MI-6) picked up on unusual Hamas activities and passed it to Mossad?

I am sure most of you know by now that HAMAS has called for a global jihad for October 13th.

I am not an alarmist but all the springs in my spare magazines are now under tension.

One of the issues that kept Israel from getting Ali Hassan Salameh was he was working with the CIA. Not saying that happened in this case, but it has been an issue in the past.

A couple of additional pieces of information. First, it seems that Egyptian intelligence did discover the Hamas plan, and did inform Israel. Beyond that, no one is yet talking. Second, there are a half-million US citizens now living in Israel, many of them holding dual US-Israel citizenship. I had no idea there were that many. If significant numbers of them become combat casualties, no way the US can stay out of the fighting.

From Twitter:

"Florida Representative Cory Mills took an overnight flight to Israel to help evacuate American citizens from Israel.

Cory Mills, who served from 1999 to 2004 in the United States Army, as a member of the 82nd Airborne Division has reportedly helped 32 Americans evacuate.

Mills was unable to reveal where he currently is but noted that he is "helping and showing solidarity with our Israeli brothers and helping Americans evacuate."

Go Army!

A Palestinian state was provided, along about 1949/50. It is called the country of Jordan, and is still in existence.

Supposedly they even told the Israeli PM.

If the Egyptians knew, why didn't Mossad know? Is Egyptian intelligence that much better or is Israel that incompetent?

Why would the Egyptians lie about giving out intelligence?

If true it's either incompetence or intentional.

I'm thinking intentional.

Not even slightly was Jordan created as a Palestinian state. See the Transjordan Memorandum of 1922. 'Mandatory Palestine' was separated from Transjordan by a specific border.

The following provisions of the Mandate for Palestine are not applicable to the territory known as Trans-Jordan, which comprises all territory lying to the east of a line drawn from a point two miles west of the town of Akaba on the Gulf of that name up the centre of the Wady Araba, Dead Sea and River Jordan to its junction with the River Yarmuk; thence up the centre of that river to the Syrian Frontier.

At one time the jews living in Palestine were terrorists attacking the British, our closest ally. They stole the land they have from others. You can get what you want if you commit terror. Look at any map from 1947 or prior. You reap what you so.
