Which is your FAVORITE S&W revolver?

For me it's not just one, but two

My 686-4 with a mountain style barrel profile and my 24-3 3 inch

Don't shoot them as much as I should, but love them still.

These would be the 2 revolvers that would be the very last to leave my hands of all that I own.

Give it few minutes and I'll probably change my mind....

This model 60 for now. At least until the 3" K frame or the 3" N frame gap are filled. Which ever may find me first.

My favorite is my 629-1 "Special Mountain Gun" )Product Code 301619). It is one of the very few square butt Mountain Guns made by Smith & Wesson. It's a beautiful gun.
There were 40 of them made for a special run for RSR, and this one is mine.

Oh come on guys, that's an easy question! My favorite S&W revolver is..... which ever one I'm shooting at the time! Altho, I must admit to being partial to my very first revolver - 686-4+ with 2 1/2" barrel.

These days, I firmly believe a lady just can't have too many revolvers!

No way to pick just one. That would be like asking a man which one of his children is best....:)

Agree...........tough question !

For all the reasons of personal versatility, it would be a Model 63

(2nd: Model 15, 14, 67, or 66)
(3rd: Model 17, 18, or 617)
(4th: Model 624)

In broke old age I'm currently down to only one, the J-frame I've carried for eighteen years. But the sweetest handgun of any kind I have ever owned was a 15-3 bought unfired from an estate consignment. The trigger was splendid, but bordered on the miraculous after a master gunsmith did a little polishing and arcane magic. My son owns it now.

I need to acquire a Model 10 for a house gun, but medical costs mean I have to delay that fo now

Of all the S&W revolvers that you own...or want to own...which one is your very best favorite?

To me, it's like asking which tool in your toolkit is your favorite. S&W handguns are like Snap-On tools in my toolbox. They're all my favorite!

For me it would be my 629-1 8 3/8 I got it in the late 80s and have tripped over many roots and slid down many a hill with that gun in pursuit of that monster buck right over that next ridge or hiding down in that swamp. We have chased him thru 6 states so far and killed some of his little brothers a bunch of hogs and a couple of very unlucky coyotes but this year this is the year .This will be the year of the monster buck .

my 1951 production model 17 with 6" bbl. got it from an old friend that passed away 9 years or so ago. it is the most accurate, softest shooting gun i have ever owned. he shot it a TON, ive shot it a metric TON, and someday my kids will too!

NOT HAVING THE EXPERIENCE WITH AS MANY...

I like the 640,617, 681 VERY MUCH. For the blue collar price & availability (& personal history for me) the model 10-6 pinned heavy barrel, presses MANY of my like buttons. Hard to find a better feel in hand one, SO FAR. An N frame 45 caliber is on my wish list. Not a fan of the newer J frame ultra lights with the flaky finish.

My favorite gun is the one I carry: a SIG P229 in caliber .357SIG. I carry it wherever I go and have done so for years; there is no rotation. I do have a selection of Bar-B-Que guns which I include in my 'full battle rattle'. That is defined at my house, when I go to the Twin Cities OR to church.

Those guns are presently a .44 Triple Lock with a barrel shortened to 3 1/2 inches, a 24-3 with a three inch barrel, a .38/.44 HD nickel plated with a 4 inch barrel and an original 70 Series Colt Government model with a collet bushing and an after market (I think) hard chrome finish.

That means I've ignored the size and weight of my ordnance when you consider one of that group is added to the SIG automatic.

Mine is this model 19-3 that I just picked up recently. It just fits like we were destined for each other. And it shoots like nobody's business. Target was shot offhand at 20 yards.

Man with a plan. Like it.

I think my favorite S&W handgun might be, the one I haven't found yet. The one that keeps me going into little out of the way gun stores. The one that I'm always "about to find". It's the one that makes me check classifieds everywhere, and stop and turn around to go back in that pawn shop I just passed. And for a short time it's often the one I just traded for, or the one I'm cleaning for the first time.

But then still yet, I start all over again, looking for my favorite one. :D

I just had a Model 16-3 recreated using an original barrel and aModel 14-3 donor gun... but I regard it along with my K-22 and K-38 Masterpieces as one gun... Siamese Triplets if you will. This gun/these guns would have to be my favorite(s.) OTOH, IF I were really limited to an actual, single gun, I'd probably pick my custom built K-frame Stainless 327 Fed Mag for maximum flexibility. I could shoot the variety of 32 straight wall cases available and by reloading do just about anything possible for anything but the biggest monster magnums. :D
