Over eleven hours at the hospital yesterday, six and a half of it forced to lie flat on my back and not allowed to raise my head or bend my leg. Tough on an old man with sciatica and no butt padding. It was one of the hardest and most painful things I've had to do in years.
Result, the surgeon catheterized the arteries but was unable to correct the leg problem with stents. The blockages are up in the pelvic area and will requir more invasive surgery. Damn.
Came home to an insanely relieved and ecstatic little dog. Went to bed eventually and slept almost ten hours--a great rarity for me. And this morning, despite severe back and hip pain,
I was able to drink coffee! Huzzah! Priorities, and all that.
Thanks for all the prayers and encouragement. You folks are great.
